Job summary

Nelson Global Products Inc. seeks an operator focused on quality and safety to work across multiple departments in a manufacturing setting. You will follow blueprints, use hand and power tools, and verify parts with calipers and tape measures.

You’ll maintain a clean, organized workspace and participate in continuous improvement efforts. The role requires the ability to lift up to 25 lbs, stand for long periods, and handle multiple tasks to meet production deadlines.

• Read and understand blueprints
• Utilize hand tools, power tools and other special equipment within department
• Accurately utilize measuring devices such as measuring tape, calipers, and pi tape
• Cleaning and inspecting of completed parts
• Read and understand work instructions
• Keep work area safe and clean (5S- Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
• Utilize the common approach to continuous improvement
• Complete Other jobs as assigned

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The operator is responsible for ensuring quality standards are being met while always upholding safety principles and guidelines. Operators may be cross trained, and move from one machine, area, or department to meet customer needs and demands.

DEPARTMENT AREAS:

• Presses, CNC Turret Press and Brake Press
• Shears
• Packaging
• Painting
• Resistance and fusion welding
• Auto welder
• End finishing equipment

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Understand and follow all safety rules and guidelines
• Operate assigned machines to produce finished product in a final assembly
• Read and understand blueprints
• Utilize hand tools, power tools and other special equipment within department
• Accurately utilize measuring devices such as measuring tape, calipers, and pi tape
• Cleaning and inspecting of completed parts

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• 1 year of manufacturing or production experience is required.

• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines
• Ability to problem solve and resolve issues
• Possess the ability to lift up to 25#; stand/walk up to 12 hours; frequently push, pull, reach, twist, bend.
