Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a hands-on leader for field operations. This role will manage safety, supervise equipment use, and mentor technicians while delivering reliable service at outdoor sites.

You will operate Vac Trucks and related equipment, perform CDL inspections, execute work orders, and travel up to 50% overnight; shifts are long and weather can be harsh.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid CDL (A or B) required.
• Clean driving record eligible for company insurance.

Responsibilities

Job description

Compensation between $23 and $26 per hour. Compensation up to $30 per hour with vac truck experience

Overview:

• Lead job site safety and ensure proper use of PPE
• Operate equipment including Vac Trucks, Hydro Jetters, Pressure Washers, Hydro Blasters and Pickups
• Conduct daily CDL inspections and maintain accurate logs
• Perform pre-job and equipment setups
• Identify and report equipment issues
• Train and mentor technicians and employees
• Participate in team meetings with a positive, professional attitude
• Interpret and execute job work orders from supervisors or clients
• Stop work and report concerns when safety issues arise
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical systems
• Travel to job sites (approximately 50% overnight travel)
• Working shifts (8–14 hours) outdoors in all weather conditions
• Lift, bend, climb, and stand for long periods
• Maintain a clean driving record

Required:

Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in outdoor industrial environments, which may include exposure to dust, noise, and chemicals.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
• Ability to work various shifts and weekends as needed.
• Overnight travel up to 50-75% of the time.
• Ability to work 8–12-hour shifts, more if required on occasion.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform strenuous physical tasks

Preferred (Not Required):

• Industry-related certifications or vocational training
• Prior experience in environmental services or waste management
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
