Job summary

Afognak Native Corporation is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate heavy equipment on civil projects, perform daily checks, and maintain equipment. This on-call/at-task role requires attention to safety and compliance.

Candidates should have at least 5 years’ experience on civil projects; a CDL with tanker endorsement is preferred; no phone calls please; local union 612 members eligible.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience on civil projects.
• CDL with tanker endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of Injury, property damage or loss of life.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
• Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
• Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
• Participate in routine maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and presentable workplace/station.
• Accomplishes all tasks using best safety practices as adopted by EM385

Heavy equipment may include, but not limited to, trucks, front-end loaders, bulldozers, graders, extended boom equipment, tamping equipment, back hoe, compactors,. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies and procedures. This position an on call or per job task order basis.
