Job summary

Crestron Electronics Inc. in Orangeburg, NY is seeking a manufacturing assembler to join the production team. You will assemble and wire cabinet components, read blueprints, and set up testing on PCBA and related equipment in a fast-paced facility.

The role requires reading and communicating in English, working with hand tools, and ability to operate testing systems with IPC standards. Overtime and teamwork are expected in this 1st/2nd shift manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience with electrical, electronic, or mechanical assembly processes and measurements.
  • Able to read and communicate in English.
  • Blueprints, hand tools, assembler, electrical assembler skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, configure, laser mark or fabricate wiring and mechanical parts according to blueprints and layouts.
  • Operate PCBA test equipment and calibration per IPC standards.
  • Read drawings to assemble and wire cabinets and fixtures.
  • Perform testing of assembled products to ensure performance requirements.

General Summary:

Assemble, Configure, Laser mark or fabricate wiring and or mechanical parts, Metals, Fabrics, Plastics, and pieces or products together using a variety of tools and equipment according to required blue prints, Layouts, and component overviews in a specific area of a production line in a manufacturing organization. Set up and operation of PCBA equipment, test equipment utilizing IPC standards.

  • All Le vel 2 Duties plus the following added responsibilities.
  • Work with support teams on new product introductions
  • Make recommendations to improve test efficiency.
  • Ability to operate a variety of testing equipment, such as Signal generators and multimeter.
  • Must be able to read drawing to assemble and wire custom cabinet.
  • Ability to read and understand outbound with configuration for DM.
  • Must be able to read drawing to assemble and wire custom cabinet.
  • Ability to confirm and MIGO material to storage location off production orders.
  • Working knowledge of low voltage systems integration including, but not limited to, equipment application, compatibility, and testing procedures.
  • Performs testing of assembled product to ensure product meets performance requirements.
  • Demonstrated competence on various electronic and mechanical systems.
  • Set-up Machines, which includes running daily calibration.
  • Understanding how to replenish exhausted components.
  • Verify Shortages and substitutions
  • Setup and operate Pick and Place machines, specifically Panasonic.
  • Verify Mix is correct.
  • Operate FCT Test and IT
  • Make sure components are received from Prep Dept.
  • Organized jobs based on setup sheet from Programmer.
  • ability to repair a variety of electronic circuit boards.
  • Load ICT programs
  • 2 - 3 years

Job Specifications:

  • Experience withElectrical, Electronic, or Mechanical assembly processes and measurements.
  • Able to read and communicate in English.
  • Blueprints, Hand Tools, Assembler, Electrical Assembler Required Skills
  • Tests functional performance of systems, sub-assemblies, and parts under specified conditions.
  • Records test data on daily basis and submits to supervisor(s).
  • Must have skills to distinguish between subtle differences in color.
  • Moderately complex work performed within established practices and procedures requiring critical thinking skills.
  • Complete daily packing and shipping goals in a timely manner
  • Accurately record all product information and movement through the proper use of scanning equipment or other tracking systems.
  • Maintain clean and organized environment.
  • Must have the willingness to learn and be trained on various types of equipment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license to operate PIT vehicles.
  • Must have the ability to perform quality inspection of select materials per orders, including spelling, quantity, and cosmetic defects.
  • Ability to perform calibration and preventative maintenance of cell machines or fixtures.
  • Participate in Daily Safety huddles.
  • Must be able to Work overtime as required.
  • Demonstrate the willingness to cross train across various production cells.
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to work often with others in a team environment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and written in English
  • Must have comprehension skills in English.
  • Need to be organized and detail oriented.
  • Basic computer navigation and utilization skills.

Working Conditions:

  • 1 st Shift (8:00am to 4:30 PM) or 2 nd Shift (5:00 pm to 1:30am)
  • 0 % amount of travel required for the job.
  • Prolonged standing, seating, bending for up to 5-12 hours during the day.
  • Wearing of ESD Jacket and ESD wrist guards with protective eye wear.
  • High Paced Manufacturing Facility.
  • High Amount of repetitive motion required.
  • Position involves lifting, lowering, and carrying packages that typically weigh 40 lbs.
  • Ability to operate a hand pump jack to handle heavier objects.
  • Required grip gloves and protective eye wear.
  • Ability to operate and maneuver crates with various weight limits with assistance.
