Job summary

Paligen Technologies is seeking an Operator at Garland, TX to join a high-paced production team focused on delivering quality components in a metal fabrication environment. The role requires following safety rules, inputting data into production tracking software, using hand tools and measuring equipment, and rotating across areas.

Forklift operation may be required after training; strong basic computer skills and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs are needed.

Qualifications

• Adhere to plant safety rules and report hazards.
• Demonstrate the ability to input data into production tracking software.
• Demonstrate the ability to use small hand tools as required.
• Demonstrate the ability to use standard measuring equipment as required by job duties.
• Must execute work instructions and be willing to rotate across areas.
• Demonstrate the ability to operate a forklift after training if required.
• Functional math skills for completing tasks.
• Learn the use of gauges and instruments related to tasks.
• Basic computer skills.
• Work in elevated temperatures, smoke, dirt and grease.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain attendance within company standards.
• Cross-train in multiple skills over at least one year.
• Produce quality work while maintaining efficiency.
• Additional duties may be assigned by the hiring manager.

Essential Duties, Skills, Qualifications and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Adhere to plant safety rules, recognize and bring to the attention of supervision potential safety hazards, and implement corrective actions to unsafe practices and/or conditions.
• Demonstrate the ability to input data into Company computerized production tracking software.
• Demonstrate the ability to use small hand tools as required.
• Demonstrate the ability to use standard measuring equipment as required by job duties.
• Must demonstrate the ability to execute work instructions and the willingness to work in multiple areas as required by rotating assignments.
• Demonstrate the ability to use small hand tools and learn how to operate a forklift when required testing has been successfully completed.
• Functional math skills required to complete job tasks.
• Demonstrate the ability to learn the use of all gages and instruments required to related job tasks.
• Basic computer skills
• Demonstrate the ability to work in elevated temperatures, thick smoke, dirt and grease.
• Physically able to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Absentee record within company standards
• Increasing number of skills and cross training completed throughout at least one (1) year of work experience and ability to perform work as required within time standard efficiency for each operation.
• Produce quality work while maintaining operating efficiencies.
• Additional job requirements may be specified by the hiring manager as required.

Special Skills Required:

• Must be capable of operating multiple types of metal cleaning equipment including automated and manual cabinets.
• Capable of troubleshooting equipment and working with maintenance to resolve all downtime issues.
• Must be able to use all shot blast equipment including wheelabrator and manual cabinets.

Work environment:

• Elevated temperatures, thick smoke, dirt and grease.
• Physically able to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Handling materials up to 900 degrees with proper tools.
