Position Summary

An Operator is responsible for the successful and safe execution of field work. Field work includes inspecting, operating, dumping, and cleaning the vacuum truck or pump through the completion of the job/shift. One should be able to concentrate on performing daily tasks and commit to safety policies and procedures. An Operator reports to a Field Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in Pre-Job Safety Meeting:
  • Attend pre-job safety meeting and provide input as required.
• Job Execution:
  • Follow instructions provided by Field Supervisor and work within your crew to complete specific tasks safely and efficiently.
• Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions.

Qualifications

Requirements and Skills

• OSHA 10 Certification (Refresher required annually)
• DOT Physical (Up to Date)
• CDL (Class A or B)
  • Tanker Endorsement Required
  • No Restrictions
• Adhering to and completing all safety precautions for vacuum activities.
• Operation of heavy equipment or mobile equipment when qualified (man lift, forklift, etc.)
• Operation and inspection of Vacuum and Jetter Trucks
• Perform daily pre and post trip inspections on all equipment.
  • Pre = Before truck is started
  • Post = After job completion
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Assist in set up and tear down at job site.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, which include but are not limited to:
  • Climbing in and out of truck when necessary
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Wear respiratory equipment and pass the annual fit test.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • General physical tasks: Pulling, kneeling, bending.
