Job summary

Synax Inc. is seeking a skilled CNC Setup / Operator to prepare, program, and operate CNC milling machines. You will read blueprints, set up tooling, edit G/M-code, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances.

You will interpret GD&T, set up fixtures, and perform quality inspections with precision measuring tools, while maintaining and basic preventative maintenance on the machines.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in CNC milling machine setup and operation.
• Strong proficiency in G-code and M-code programming/editing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Hands-on experience with manual machine tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled CNC Setup / Operator to prepare, program, and operate our CNC milling machines. In this role, you will read technical blueprints, set up tooling, edit G/M-code programs, and ensure all finished parts meet precise quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, calibrate, and operate multi-axis CNC milling machines for daily production runs.
• Interpret technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Read, edit, and optimize G-code and M-code programs at the machine interface.
• Set up fixtures, select proper tooling, and make offset adjustments for Fanuc (and dialog-based) control systems.
• Perform quality inspections on finished parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges).
• Maintain machine tools and perform basic preventative maintenance.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Experience: Proven experience in CNC milling machine setup and operation.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong proficiency in G-code and M-code programming/editing.
• Controls: Experience with Fanuc control systems (conversational/dialog-based system experience preferred).
• Blueprint Reading & Metrology: Strong ability to read engineering drawings and perform quality checks.
• Bonus Skills: Hands‑on experience with manual machine tools (mills, lathes) is a strong plus.
