Job summary

LFB Biopharmaceuticals is seeking a dedicated animal care professional to support daily husbandry and veterinary care for rabbits in a high-standards production setting. You will perform feeding, observations, injections, and assist with breeding and kindling processes while ensuring compliance with quality systems and regulatory guidelines.

The role requires careful documentation, safety awareness, and the ability to work with minimal supervision on assigned projects.

Qualifications

• Husbandry duties: cage changes, cleaning, sanitization, equipment handling.
• Ability to perform and assist with injections (IM, IV, SC, IP) and blood collection.

Job description

SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES (RESPONSIBILITIES, TASKS, ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

1. 1. Daily animal care activities to include: feeding, animal observations/identification of clinical concerns, and nail trimming
2. 2. Husbandry activities to include cage change/cleaning, use of power wash and chemical dispensing equipment, and general facility sanitization and support
3. 3. Milking of rabbits and standard support activities to meet production goals and adherence to established schedules
4. 4. Proper restraint of rabbits to facilitate general animal care, transfers, sample collection, and advanced handling (Al restraint)
5. 5. Technical skills to include IM, IV, SC, and IP injections, and IV blood collection procedures
6. 6. Assess animals, initiate veterinary care and execute animal treatments
7. 7. Perform animal identification applications to include ear tags, tattoos and RFID transponders.
8. 8. May perform and provide support, to include updating of records, for natural and artificial insemination breeding procedures, pregnancy palpation and kindling/weaning procedures.
9. 9. Utilize computer and paper-based systems to accurately document and/or record information to assure compliance with applicable regulations, and company policies
10. 10. Have an understanding of applicable Quality Systems (e.g. change control, deviations).
11. 11. May write, modify, and provide training (as assigned) on SOPs/WI/TM
12. 12. Demonstrate the ability to work on assigned projects independently with little or no supervision.
13. 13. Identify safety issues and initiate corrective actions to reach resolution
14. 14. Identify and communicate animal welfare concerns Exhibit a sound understanding of applicable animal care and use guidelines.
15. 15. Weekend and holiday coverage required on a rotating basis.
