Job summary

MSD in Durham, NC is seeking a dedicated team member for our Manufacturing Operations to support production activities and ensure quality and compliance in a state-of-the-art vaccine facility.

You will perform manual and automated operations, maintain documentation for traceability, participate in lean and safety initiatives, and collaborate with QA, Logistics, and other teams to deliver material on time.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or higher required.
• Experience with GMP and sterile manufacturing.
• Strong documentation and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support production activities in the manufacture of material.
• Perform manual and automated operations, general maintenance and support functions for production.
• Provide and/or author documentation for accountability and traceability of product.
• Maintain, inventory and transport equipment, materials, supplies, and products.
• Ensure shipment criteria and timely availability and delivery.
• Troubleshoot equipment when needed and assist as required.
• Perform housekeeping and decontamination per procedures.
• Prepare equipment for production and maintain cleanliness.
• Collect samples and perform in-process testing for manufacturing and validation.
• Coordinate with Quality and Logistics to deliver samples to appropriate laboratories.
• Participate in HAZOPS, 5S, kaizen events and lean activities.
• Maintain training status independently.

Job Description This opening is for all shifts. Our Manufacturing Operations teams are the people that make our products. We work in the manufacturing facility with a “Safety First, Quality Always” mindset, always striving for continuous improvement. We work in the local plant connected to our global manufacturing network to ensure the highest quality of raw materials, intermediates and finished products. The Maurice R. Hilleman Center for Vaccine Manufacturing is located in Durham, NC. This state-of-the-art facility established in 2004 manufactures our Company’s lifesaving vaccines in bulk and finished forms.

Responsibilities

• Supports production activities in the manufacture of material.
• Works in conjunction with all appropriate personnel, performs manual and automated operations, general maintenance and support functions necessary for production.
• Provides and/or authors all documentation and clerical functions necessary to allow proper accountability and traceability of product.
• Maintains, inventories, and transports all required equipment, materials, supplies and products.
• Ensures shipment criteria and timely availability and delivery.
• Performs general maintenance and assists or ability in troubleshooting of equipment independently.
• Performs housekeeping in all work areas.
• Executes facility decontamination according to procedures.
• Maintains, cleans and prepares equipment used in production.
• Performs sampling/in-process testing supporting the manufacturing and validation process for current process.
• Provides timely delivery of sample and other materials as required to appropriate laboratories, coordinating with Quality and Logistics as required.
• Attends and actively participates in HAZOPS, waste walkthroughs, 5S, kaizen events, or any other operations, lean six-sigma, quality, safety or environmental training/initiatives as required.
• Self-motivated to maintain own training status

The salary range for this role is: $52,500 - $82,700. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
