Job summary

The Arthur Companies is seeking a hands-on worker to operate the grain elevator in Idaho Falls. This role focuses on receiving grain, preparing it for shipment, and loading it into bins and vehicles, with emphasis on accuracy and safety.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, and prior grain/industrial experience is preferred. A valid driver’s license and the ability to work in a team are required, with potential overtime during peak seasons.

• Read sensors and maintain Hazard Monitoring system performance.
• Maintain a clean, safe and productive work environment.
• Follow safety policies and wear PPE.
• Work additional hours during peak seasons.

Purpose Of Position

This position is responsible to receive and ship grain from elevator, safely perform operations, and maintain the facility at The Arthur Companies.

Responsibilities

• Receive grain and accurately load into the correct bins


• Prepare the grain to ship to named destinations as directed by operations leader


• Operate scale to weigh inbound and outbound trucks and railcars


• Operate conveyors and other heavy equipment to load trucks or railcars


• Operate loader to run and clean out the bottom of the bins


• Inspect and maintain a clean, safe and productive working environment


• Maintain equipment and repair as needed such as grease bearings, repair holes, replace belts on motor


• Read and test sensors and bearings on the Hazard Monitoring system to ensure system is running efficiently


• Log and report any malfunctions and issues to operations leader


• Participate in safety program by following all safety policies, and wear proper PPE


• Adhere to company policies and procedures set forth by the company


• Work additional hours as assigned and/or during peak seasons


• Other duties as necessary

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Exposed to moving mechanical parts


• Exposed to moderate to loud noise levels


• Occasionally exposed to oils, fumes or airborne particles


• Occasionally work in high, dangerous places

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have the ability to climb stairs and ladders


• Ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs


• Ability to use a shovel and broom


• Ability to communicate with others


• Ability to stand for extended periods of time


• Ability to stand, grasp, walk, reach, use repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement


• Ability to drive, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl


• Must be able to visually see 20 feet or more, at 20 inches or less, three-dimensional vision, precise hand-eye coordination, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors


• Requires concentrated attention


• Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions
