Job summary

Equinix is seeking an Operations Support Engineer (entry level) to provide basic technical and systems support under supervision. The role contributes to documentation, training materials, and process improvements within Data Center Operations.

You will assist in handling system issues, data analysis, and cross-functional project tasks, working with senior engineers to ensure reliable infrastructure and customer impact minimization.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic technical and systems support under supervision of senior staff
• Reviews basic business and technical processes and identifies opportunities for improvement
• Provides basic system support for Data Center operations systems (e.g., Remedy, Oracle, Siebel)
• Reviews issues and data patterns to identify type of issue (system, training, etc.)
• Drafts documentation for internal review
• Assists in development of training materials
• Shadows senior team in UAT and documents findings
• Manages a piece of a larger project as assigned

Job Summary

Provides basic technical and systems support under the direction of more senior level Operations Support Engineers, and identifies opportunities for basic process improvements. Assists in development of documentation and training materials.

Responsibilities

Technical Support

• Provides support on escalations for basic technical issues (e.g., with basic system functionality, referring to manual on how to properly certify a cable, testing a fiber or cable, reviewing schematic designs prior to sending to Data Center for installation) as assigned and under the guidance of more senior staff within Data Center, offers suggestions for resolution

Process Support/Optimization

• Reviews basic business and/or technical processes (e.g. provisioning lead time, effectivity) within the Data Center and identifies opportunities for process improvement; may lead process solutions

Systems Support

• Provides basic system support for Data Center Operations business systems such as Remedy, Oracle, Siebel, resolving identified issues (e.g., Single Sign on, System Name requests) at the direction of more senior level team members

Data Support/Analysis

• Reviews issues/customer problems (potentially creating/leveraging non-standard reporting) to identify data patterns in the types of support questions being raised and determine type of issue (system, training, etc.); runs pre-defined cross-checks on data being used

Documentation

• Drafts documentation (can be technical & non-technical) for work being completed within own team for review by more senior team members

Training

• Assists in development of training materials

UAT

• Shadows more senior team members in facilitation of UAT and documents findings

Project Management

• Manages a piece of a larger project as assigned by more senior team members

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - LA4 Los Angeles : 78,000 - 118,000 USD / Annual

The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
