Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Eleven to fourteen years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience leading manufacturing and operations strategy at multi-site level.
  • Strong understanding of production processes and cost modeling.

Job description

We are looking for a visionary Operations Support Director to drive our global operational and quoting strategies from within. In this role, you will work with cross‑functional managers, collaborate directly with executive leadership, and shape the long‑term strategic direction of our multi‑national operations. From architecting advanced Manufacturing Execution Systems to defining winning quote strategies for major new business opportunities, your decisions will directly influence our global market success. Detailed Description
  • Defines operational quote strategy for the company to support operational needs as well as strategic and growth initiatives.
  • Organizes and chairs quote performance reviews with the executive team.
  • Logs and tracks corrective actions.
  • Works with Operating units to find optimum solutions for asset and resource requirements.
  • Defines strategies for Operational solutions (ie. equipment AVL, resources demographics, etc.).
  • Develops Operational solutions necessary to support and satisfy Business Development strategies.
  • Anticipates requirements for new market initiatives and provides leadership to prepare the Operating Units to succeed.
  • Study, recommend, implement necessary Manufacturing Execution Systems (ie. SFC, SFR, etc.) to provide Operating Units with the tools they need to efficiently and effectively run their business.
  • Conduct special studies and analysis as required to support senior management decisions and strategies, and drive operational change.
  • Support/direct site quotecell quoting activities within the segment.
  • Evaluates cost models and develops manufacturing strategies for new customer opportunities.
  • Benchmark new opportunity cost models with existing products to understand competitiveness.
  • Recommends cost model guidelines (TPS/PCM) for new customer opportunities.
  • Evaluates win/loss information to determine any improvements within the quotecell.
  • Participate/direct in the quote strategy meetings on new business opportunities.
  • Recommend site locations for new business opportunities.
  • Drives continuous improvement utilizing Closed Loop analysis and supports operational elements related to repricing activities.
  • Act as a liaison between Corporate and the sites / regions for communicating operational initiatives, accomplishments and challenges, and develop / maintain various global databases for sharing information.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of Production and how decisions impact customer satisfaction, product quality, on‑time delivery and the profitability of the unit.
  • In‑depth knowledge of manufacturing, the production process and the tools and equipment used in the process.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to establish manufacturing goals and coordinate a wide variety of resources to meet quality and quantity metrics.
  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers and the senior management team.
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees to achieve high performance levels within tight time deadlines in a highly dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive experience in World Class Manufacturing/Lean implementation.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively cross functionally and with other sites to achieve objectives.
  • Strong PCBA/BoxBuild operations process background.
  • Excellent business, analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • Previous Program Management / Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Strong financial acumen.
Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.
  • Duties may require periodic sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Occasional overnight travel is required.
  • Above demands are carried out within the local existing Health and Safety guidelines.
Typical Experience
  • Eleven to fourteen years relevant experience.
Typical Education
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
