Job summary

MTSI is seeking an Operations Support Analyst to support the FLRAA MV-75 simulation environment in Huntsville, AL. The role serves as the primary onsite technical authority for the simulation enclave, ensuring readiness of hardware, software, and facility systems during training events.

Ideal candidates have DoD 8140/8570 IAT II, 5+ years in flight simulation or HWIL/tactical systems, and a background in operating an IOS, performing maintenance, and testing upgrades. U.S.

Qualifications

• DoD 8140/8570 IAT II qualification or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• 5+ years direct experience in flight simulation maintenance, HWIL, or tactical systems support.
• US citizenship with an active clearance.
• Hands-on experience configuring flight simulators and operating an IOS.
• Experience performing maintenance and load testing on simulator environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily system initialization, readiness testing, and display calibration.
• Operate the IOS to support training events for military aircrews.
• Isolate hardware/software faults to LRU level and coordinate repairs.
• Install and verify software updates and patches from OEMs; verify functionality.
• Oversee prototype-to-FTD transition; review upgrades and technical docs.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, and validation to ensure OEM upgrades align with aircraft configurations.
• Perform PMCS and load-bank testing on the facility's 10K diesel generator.
• Conduct inventories of Government Furnished Equipment and submit reports.
• Assist with device maintenance per program documentation and BOS/MOPs.
• Plan personnel training for device architecture and maintenance.
• Support DV/site tours and briefing of FLRAA MV-75 prototype to visitors.

Job description

MTSI is seeking to hire an Operations Support Analyst to support our team in Huntsville, AL to serve as the primary onsite technical authority and operator for the FLRAA MV-75 simulation environment. The qualified candidate will ensure maximum operational readiness of simulation enclaves, tactical host computers, and facility power and HVAC systems.

Work Schedule

Standard shift 0800 – 1600. Must be available for occasional weekend/holiday shifts.

Travel

Up to 25% travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily system initialization, readiness testing, and visual display calibration.
• Operate the Instructor Operator Station (IOS) to support military aircrews during training events.
• Isolate hardware and software faults down to the Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) level. Coordinate with engineering reach-back teams for complex repairs.
• May be required to Act as the onsite executor for system modifications by receiving, verifying, and uploading software updates and patches sent from the OEM. Ensure successful installation, conduct operational checks, and confirm functionality within the simulation environment
• Assist the Program Office in overseeing the prototype-to-FTD transition. Review OEM-presented upgrades plans, engineering changes, and technical documentation.
• Support the PO and training team during testing, troubleshooting, and validation events to verify the OEM’s upgrades achieve concurrency with actual aircraft configurations.
• Execute scheduled Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) and monthly load-bank testing on the facility's dedicated military 10K diesel generator.
• Conduct physical inventories of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and submit required maintenance and discrepancy reports.
• Conduct the maintenance onsite using the Program Structure Documents developed by Bell, CAE and TRU Simulation.
• Support all maintenance components documented in Maintenance and Operations Manuals and provided documentation.
• Plan proper personnel at the facility trained on device architecture and device maintenance theory.
• Team members will be integrated into the FLRAA Program Office team and will be expected to support various activities such as reviewing documentation, conducting procedures, assisting with parts integration into the devices, supporting the tear-down and packing procedures, as well as other various tasks related to the devices.
• Serve as the primary facility host for distinguished visitors (DVs), external stakeholders, and Program Office personnel. Conduct site tours covering simulator operational basics, facility capabilities, and a general overview of the FLRAA MV-75 Virtual Prototype.

Required Qualifications

• US citizenship and an active secret level clearance is required.
• 5+ years of direct experience in flight simulation maintenance, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) systems, or tactical systems support.
• Department of Defense (DoD) 8140/8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II (Security+ Continuing Education) required or can be obtained within 6 months.
• Previous Aviation Military training highly valued in lieu of a degree
• Hands-on experience configuring flight simulators, operating an IOS, and performing maintenance/load testing
