Job summary

Comprehensive Logistics Co. Inc. is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to manage shipping and receiving, monitor equipment, and uphold safety policies at our Lorain, Ohio facility.

As a fast-growing 3PL partner, CLI prioritizes continuous improvement, cross-department coordination, and on-the-job training to drive timely deliveries and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma required.
• Good written and oral communication are essential.
• Warehousing and Shipping/Receiving experience is required.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Manage the shipping and receiving systems.
• Monitor operational equipment and systems.
• Maintain safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Coordinate activities with other departments.
• Implement programs and procedures to ensure plant cleanliness.
• Assist with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.
• Coordinate and monitor the contents of shipments leaving Comprehensive Logistics.
• Assist with training Material Movement Team Members.
• Plan, assign, and direct work.
• Appraise the performance of Material Movement Team Members.
• Participate in Five Phase Problem Solving Teams supporting Continuous Improvement.
• Provide on-the-job training.
• Ensure compliance with Dock Safety Procedures.
• Ensure timely shipment of materials and determine need to hot-shot material.
• Ensure commodity distribution meets customer needs.
• Experience working in a union environment.
• IT Savvy with RF scanners and related equipment.

Summary:

• Coordinates and monitors the contents of shipments that leave Comprehensive Logistics.
• Assists with training Material Movement Team Members.
• Plans, assigns, and directs work.
• Appraises the performance of Material Movement Team Members.
• Involved in multidisciplinary Five Phase Problem Solving Teams that directly drive the company’s Continuous Improvement Process and Policies
• Responsible for on-the-job training.
• Ensures compliance with Comprehensive Dock Safety Procedures.
• The Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that material is shipped to the customer promptly. They must also determine the need to hot-shot material and ensure that the Five Alarm Process is initiated and executed.
• TheOperations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the commodity distribution in any shipment is sufficient to meet customer needs.
• Experience working within a Union Environment.
• IT Savvy with various equipment, RF scanners, and other items.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Minimum of a high schoolDiploma
• Good writtenand oral communication
• Warehousing and Shipping/Receiving experience(Required)
