Job summary

World Fuel seeks a Regional Maintenance Operations Supervisor to lead maintenance execution and reliability across Northern California. This hands-on leadership role supervises Field Service Technicians, coordinates contractors, and ensures safety and compliance in a remote field-based setup.

You will oversee field activities, manage service requests, and drive operational performance while partnering with multiple teams to maintain fueling infrastructure across a dispersed network.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance operations, facilities maintenance, field services, contractor management, fuel operations, or related.
• Experience leading technicians, contractors, or field personnel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Lead Field Maintenance Operations, supervising technicians across the region and prioritizing work orders.
• Manage work order flow, service requests, and ticketing to ensure timely delivery and documentation.
• Coordinate contractors and vendors, monitor performance and safety compliance, and manage budgets.

What You'll Do

Lead Field Maintenance Operations

• Supervise and support Field Service Technicians across the region.
• Assign, prioritize, and monitor maintenance activities to ensure timely service delivery.
• Provide coaching, training, feedback, and performance support to technicians.
• Serve as the first point of escalation for operational and maintenance‑related issues.
• Participate in field activities and site support as needed.

Manage Work Orders & Service Requests

• Oversee maintenance help desk tickets, service requests, and work orders from initiation through completion.
• Monitor ticket response times, aging reports, maintenance backlogs, and service levels.
• Evaluate maintenance requests and determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and documented properly.
• Review completed work orders for coding accuracy, completeness, and supporting documentation.

Coordinate Contractors & Vendors

• Dispatch and manage third‑party contractors, vendors, and service providers.
• Monitor contractor performance, work quality, safety compliance, and completion timelines.
• Assist with evaluating repair proposals, quotes, and vendor recommendations.
• Ensure contracted work is completed within scope, budget, and company expectations.

Drive Operational Reliability

• Conduct site visits, inspections, audits, and facility assessments.
• Identify recurring equipment failures and operational risks.
• Support preventative maintenance planning and execution.
• Assist with equipment replacements, facility upgrades, and new site startups.
• Recommend long‑term solutions to improve reliability and reduce downtime.

Ensure Compliance & Safety

• Maintain compliance with environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Support incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
• Monitor site conditions, image standards, housekeeping, and operational readiness.
• Assist with emergency response and after‑hours operational support when required.

Manage Resources & Reporting

• Monitor parts inventories, maintenance resources, and regional maintenance spending.
• Maintain accurate records within maintenance management systems.
• Generate reports and track key operational performance metrics.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational best practices.
