Responsibilities

  • Assures safe operations protecting employees, the system, and the public.
  • Oversees service, construction/maintenance, meter reading, and leak survey activities.
  • Manages budgets, monitors expenditures, and conducts annual performance reviews.
  • Ensures compliance with laws and company audits and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains productivity and safety; delivers training programs for performance.
  • Coordinates material/personnel to meet regulatory and customer safety needs.
  • Responds to inquiries/complaints; coordinates emergency response and leak management.
  • Prepares records and reports including surveys, procedures, and compliance reviews.
  • Acts as a champion for safety, wellness, and shareholder engagement.
  • Collaborates with other departments to align goals and share best practices.
  • Reviews previous day's work for quality control and continuous improvement.
  • Performs field visits to support team operations.
  • Establishes relationships with developers, home builders, contractors, and development groups; educates customers on safety and reliability of natural gas.
  • Provides 24-hour on-call support for emergencies.

Primary Duties
  • 1.Assures all activities are performed regarding safe operational practices and procedures to protect employees, the system, and the public.
  • 2.Oversees functional areas including service, construction/maintenance, meter reading, leak survey, corrosion, measurement, instrumentation, and controls.
  • 3.Manages multiple budgets; monitors actual vs. budgeted expenditures; conducts annual performance reviews of assigned employees.
  • 4.Monitors federal/state laws and company standards to assure compliance with internal/external audits and regulatory requirements.
  • 5.Maintains standards of productivity and safety; conducts training programs to improve performance and assure compliance.
  • 6.Coordinates material and personnel requirements to meet regulatory compliance and customer safety; collaborates with engineering to schedule jobs.
  • 7.Responds to customer inquiries/complaints, coordinates emergency response and leak management activities.
  • 8.Prepares and maintains records/reports including annual surveys, procedures, and compliance reviews.
  • 9.Promotes company vision, strategy, and wellness/safety initiatives; acts as a champion for public/shareholder engagement.
  • 10.Assures all work is following policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • 11.Collaborates regularly with other departments to align goals and share best practices.
  • 12.Reviews prior day's work for quality control and continuous improvement.
  • 13.Participates in on-call rotation if applicable.
  • 14.Performs field visits to maintain visibility and support team operations.
  • 15.Establishes and maintains healthy business relationships with area developers, home builders, contractors, and economic/industrial development groups. Educates existing and potential customers on the safety, affordability, reliability, and efficiency of natural gas.
  • 16.Provides 24-hour on-call support for emergency response and incident reporting.
  • 17.Other job duties as assigned.

Educational/Experience Level:
  • 1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field and three years of related experience; or
  • 2. A general educational knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and five years of related experience.
  • 3. Valid driver's license.
Communication Skills:

Requires the ability to provide explanations of technical or other complex matters to people with little or no background in the area under discussion.

Numeric Skills:

Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and simple statistical methods and/or make calculations to reconcile financial statements and accounts.

Computer Skills:

Requires basic computer skills to create standardized documents, reports, or graphics using various software.

Work Conditions:

Works in both an indoor and outdoor environment. Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
