Job summary

Salamander Solutions is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead daily production at a heater cable facility, ensuring safety, quality and timely delivery. You will supervise a team of shift supervisors, work with Engineering, QA, maintenance and supply chain, and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor.

The role requires on-site presence in Houston, with a focus on optimizing resources, enforcing SOPs, and maintaining a safe work environment while meeting customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering/ops management
• 15+ years’ experience in laser welded coiled tubing or related mill operations
• Ability to lead a production team and drive safety, quality and on-time delivery
• Strong knowledge of welding, forming, tube mills, and related industry standards
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and data-driven decision making
• Familiarity with Six Sigma, RCA and process improvement tools

Job description

Salamander Solutions is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily production operations of the heater cable manufacturing facility during assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to safety goals, quality standards, and on-time product delivery. This role leads a team of shift supervisors and collaborates closely with the Operations Manager and other key stakeholders to support the achievement of overall business and plant objectives.

This position requires on-site presence.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee operations of the heater cable manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient production, adherence to quality standards, and timely delivery of products.
• Lead a team of production staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to maximize productivity and maintain a safe working environment.
• Implement production plans and schedules, optimizing resource allocation, equipment utilization, and workflow efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality control, maintenance, and supply chain, to drive continuous improvement initiatives and resolve operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies, fostering a culture of safety awareness and implementing preventive measures to mitigate risks.
• Oversee and optimize inventory levels, coordinating with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and finished goods.
• Implement and enforce quality control processes and standards to meet customer requirements.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation to ensure consistency and repeatability in operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management or a related field, or 7+ years of relevant experience in operations supervision.
• 15 + years’ experience in a laser welded coiled tubing or laser welding tubing mill or coiled tube mill.

Core Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, cold roll forming, tube mills, coiled tubing and pipe mill operations, and relevant industry standards (e.g., ASME, API).
• Proven experience in leading a production team, with a focus on fostering collaboration, employee development, and performance optimization.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, workflow optimization, and lean principles.
• Familiarity with quality control methodologies, process improvement tools (e.g., Six Sigma), and root cause analysis and troubleshooting techniques.
• Proficiency in analyzing production data, interpreting metrics, and implementing data-driven decision-making strategies.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capability to handle multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing operations.
