Job summary

Design Within Reach in Ohio is seeking an Inventory Operations Supervisor to lead the day-to-day warehouse activities, ensuring safety, quality, customer service, and cost objectives. You will drive inventory control, accuracy, and timely shipping while developing a strong team and ensuring SOP compliance.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to optimize processes, deliver audits with accuracy, and support a culture of continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive leadership in warehouse/operations management.

Responsibilities

• Identify issues affecting customer satisfaction from operational issues and drive solutions.
• Manage inventory functions to meet goals for shipping time, fill rate, location, and count accuracy.
• Ensure annual objectives for cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness are achieved.
• Develop and manage a strong team with training, coaching, and evaluations.
• Ensure safety, security, productivity, and employee satisfaction align with company objectives.
• Oversee warehouse inventory control programs and ensure location and count accuracy meet corporate requirements.
• Actively measure quality and pursue continuous improvement.
• Seek ways to improve distribution processes and identify best practices.
• Maintain compliance and participate in audits.

General Purpose

As an Inventory Operations Supervisor, you’ll lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities for the assigned shift, including that all resources are assigned in a manner to meet or exceed safety, quality, customer service, and cost objectives.

Essential Functions

• Identify issues affecting customer satisfaction caused by operational issues and acts as a key change agent for the organization in developing solutions
• Manage inventory related functions to achievement of goals for operational metrics, including shipping time, order fill rate, inventory location, and count accuracy
• Ensure that the annual objectives for cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness are achieved
• Develop and manage a strong team and oversee training and coaching, evaluation of all employees necessary to meet or exceed goals, and development of the work atmosphere
• Ensure that safety, security, productivity, and satisfaction of employee align with company objectives
• Manage warehouse inventory control programs and assure location and count accuracy meets our corporate requirements
• Actively measure quality and strive for continuous improvement
• Continually seek ways to improve the overall distribution process and identify best practices
• Maintain compliance for areas of responsibility and participate in internal and external audits

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Abilities

• 5+ years of progressive, demonstrated leadership experience in operations management within a warehouse or distribution environment
• Ability to lift 50-75 pounds consistently
• Forklift, electric pallet jack, cherry picker experience (preferred)
• Mobile hand-held device experience (preferred)
• Strong multitasking skill
• Strong inter-personal and communication ability
• Knowledge of operational budgeting process, and P&L accountability
• MS Excel and Word proficiency
