The Junkluggers of Nassau County in Hicksville, NY is hiring an Operations Specialist – Diversion Coordinator to turn incoming furniture and other reusable items into resale, donation, and recycling opportunities.

This warehouse-based role keeps items out of landfills, supports our ReMix resale operation, and helps grow our day-to-day warehouse processes. Part-time position with potential to grow into full-time.

Qualifications

• Organized and dependable in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Strong attention to detail with accurate item listing and photography.
• Clear communication and excellent customer service attitude.
• Interest in resale, reuse, recycling, and sustainability.
• Experience in warehouse, resale, thrift, or related fields preferred.
• Comfort with lifting/moving items and hands-on work.
• Ability to drive is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Sort incoming items for resale, donation, recycling, reuse, or disposal.
• Identify valuable items, research prices, and recover value through resale channels.
• Photograph and list items, organize inventory, and track status.
• Coordinate buyer communication, pickups, and warehouse sales.
• Keep ReMix areas and zones clean, labeled, and organized.
• Improve material flow and support warehouse logistics and operations.
• Help field teams identify reusable/recyclable items and new opportunities.

Pay: $19–$21 per hour

Part-time, with the potential to grow into full-time

We are hiring an Operations Specialist – Diversion Coordinator to help turn incoming furniture, household goods, and other reusable materials into resale, donation, and recycling opportunities. This hands-on, warehouse-based role helps keep useful items out of landfills, reduce disposal costs, and grow our ReMix resale operation.

If you enjoy organizing a busy warehouse, spotting value in secondhand items, and getting things done, we would like to meet you. We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Sort incoming items for resale, donation, recycling, reuse, or disposal.
• Identify valuable items, research prices, and help recover value through approved resale channels.
• Photograph and list items, organize inventory, and track item status.
• Coordinate buyer communication, customer pickups, and warehouse sales.
• Keep the ReMix area and donation, recycling, metal, and disposal zones clean, safe, labeled, and organized.
• Improve material flow and support warehouse logistics and day-to-day operations.
• Help field teams identify reusable and recyclable items and support new recovery opportunities.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Organized, dependable, self-motivated, and attentive to detail.
• Comfortable with hands-on warehouse work, including regularly moving and lifting items safely, with reasonable accommodation as applicable.
• Clear communication and strong customer service skills.
• Interest in resale, reuse, recycling, and sustainability.
• Warehouse, resale, thrift, retail, auction, moving, junk removal, recycling, or related experience preferred.
• Ability to drive preferred but not required.
