tastytrade is seeking an Operations Specialist in Chicago to keep marketing projects organized, on time, and well resourced. You will manage day-to-day operations, track budgets, PO's, and invoicing, and coordinate with external vendors to keep programs moving.

The role requires 5+ years in operations, strong project-management skills, exceptional organization, and comfort using AI tools to improve efficiency across cross-functional teams.

Role: Operations Specialist
Location: Chicago, IL – In-Person (3/days week)
Reports to: Head of Marketing Operations

tastytrade is hiring an Operations Specialist to help keep our marketing projects organized, on time, and properly resourced. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operational health of marketing initiatives, making sure work is moving forward, teams have what they need to execute, and nothing falls through the cracks between planning and delivery.The ideal candidate has 5+ years of operations experience and is highly organized, process-driven, and comfortable managing multiple projects at once. This person is skilled at running the operational side of programs and has experience working with outside partners. Strong communication skills are essential, since this role works across marketing and with outside partners regularly. Comfort using AI tools to work more efficiently is also important for this role.

What You'll Do

• Track marketing project timelines and deliverables, flagging anything at risk of slipping
• Check in with marketing teams to confirm they have what they need to keep their work moving
• Keep project management systems and workflows updated so status is always clear and current
• Support financial tracking on marketing projects, including budgets, purchase orders, and invoicing
• Support day-to-day coordination with external vendors and partners
• Help spot bottlenecks or gaps in marketing processes and bring them to the team's attention
• Pull together status updates and reporting on projects, timelines, and resourcing
• Answer questions from cross-functional teams looking for visibility into marketing project status
• Use AI tools to find efficiencies and streamline recurring work

What You'll Need

• 5+ years of operations experience
• Strong project management skills, with experience using project management systems and tools
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
• Experience handling budgets, purchase orders, and invoicing
• Experience managing relationships with external vendors and partnersStrong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at once in a fast-paced environment
• A proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem solving
• Comfort using AI tools to find efficiencies

Nice to Have

• Experience in marketing operations or digital marketing
• Experience with marketing automation platforms or CRM systems
• Familiarity with budget tracking or basic financial reporting
• Experience in fintech, trading, and/or regulatory industries

Discretionary Performance Bonus:8-12% of base salary based on individual and company performance.
