Commonwealth Senior Living is seeking an Operations Specialist to support communities through transitions. You will oversee planning, direction and implementation of programs and policies, ensuring efficient administration and execution of the business plan for a defined period.

The role includes marketing and public relations to maintain occupancy goals, leading the leadership team, staffing and training, and acting as a Culture Ambassador. This position requires extensive travel (80-90%).

Qualifications

  • Two years of post-secondary education required; degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years’ experience as an Executive Director in senior housing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Warm, outgoing, and compassionate personality.
  • Demonstrated integrity, maturity and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of Virginia DSS standards and regulations.
  • Acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning, direction and implementation of programs and policies.
  • Coordinate resident care and oversee nursing and care staff.
  • Ensure staffing at appropriate levels with right personnel.
  • Conduct direct marketing and community outreach to maintain occupancy goals.
  • Act as responsible party before, during, and after formal licensing inspections.
  • Drive a company vehicle as required.
  • Manage paperwork required by DSS, Health Department and corporate regulations.

Pay range: $150,000 - $170,000

ROAD WARRIOR POSITION

The Operations Specialist is someone who can support communities through transitions. He or she oversees the planning, direction and implementation of all programs and policies of the community, and ensures the efficient and effective administration and execution of the company business plan for a specific period of time. During these transitions, the Operations Specialist is responsible for marketing and public relations activities to maintain occupancy goals. He or she strives to ensure resident, family and associate satisfaction. They work with their leadership team to coordinate resident care, resident activities and grow a phenomenal lineup with hiring, training and scheduling community staff. They are a Culture Ambassador! They model the core values of the company personally, leading by example, and ensure all team members exemplify the core values of the company at all times. This is a high travel role (80-90%).

Job Requirements

Meets all current requirements of the State of Virginia Department of Social Services Standards and Regulations for Licensed Assisted Living Facilities, and any amendment thereto, as required.

  • Two years' post-secondary education required; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years' experience as an Executive Director in Senior Housing.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have demonstrated integrity, maturity and leadership skills.
  • Must have understanding of State of Virginia Department of Social Services Standards and Regulations

Areas of Primary Responsibility
  • Responsible for the general well-being and health of residents in the community.
  • Responsible for ensuring the coordination of care and services to the residents, including general oversight of nursing and care staff.
  • Ensures community models the organization's core values in a way that reflects the best image for the greater communities we serve.
  • Ensures community is appropriate staffed at all times with right personnel in right places.
  • Actively seek out and reward top performers, while coaching others to improve.
  • Ultimately responsible for all paperwork required by the Department of Social Services, Health Department and corporate regulations.
  • Participates in and conducts direct marketing in and around the community for residents, community services, and staff recruitment.
  • Acts as the responsible party before, during, and after formal licensing inspections.
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle (required driver).
  • Other duties as assigned.
