Job summary

AWS Infrastructure Services (Amazon Web Services) seeks Operations Service Team (OST) Technicians for hands-on electrical and mechanical operations in data centers, including generators, switchgear, UPS, CRAC, and related systems.

This role requires US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. You’ll work a 40-hour week, daytime schedule, with on-call rotations for emergencies and exposure to safety-critical procedures in a dynamic facility environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks to HVAC equipment
  • Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center
  • Troubleshoot facility equipment within internal SLAs
  • Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians
  • Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
  • Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work
  • Write procedures
  • Work a 40 hour week Monday through Friday typically during the day
  • Utilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows and spare part inventory
  • Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance
  • Respond to off hour emergency calls per on call rotation for any one of the region’s sites
  • Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies
  • Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
  • Manipulate small wires and objects

Job description

Operations Service Team (OST) Technicians are Amazon’s front line responders for hands‑on electrical and mechanical operations and troubleshooting. They maintain, operate, troubleshoot, and repair Data Center Operation’s Mission Critical Facilities, which includes stand‑by diesel generators and related fuel systems, 3 phase electrical systems that include but not limited to switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, wet cell batteries and associated systems, CRAC, air handlers and associated systems, pumps, & motors.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. Upon application you will be asked qualifying questions that will be used only in relation to the US Government Security Clearance required for this role.

Key job responsibilities

Perform the following tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation

Base Salary and Compensation

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
