Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking Operations Service Team (OST) Technicians to join our data center operations. You will maintain, operate, troubleshoot and repair mission critical facilities including diesel generators, electrical systems, CRAC, air handlers, pumps and motors.

This role requires US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. You will work a 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, with on-call rotation for regional sites and responsibilities that include safety

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in data center operations.
  • Experience in data center engineering and maintenance.
  • Ability to bend or twist body into unusual positions while working.
  • Ability to lift up to 39 pounds and participate in group lifts.
  • Walk on job sites in uneven terrain and work at heights.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks to HVAC equipment
  • Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center
  • Troubleshoot facility equipment within internal SLAs
  • Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians
  • Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
  • Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work
  • Write procedures
  • Work a 40 hour week Monday through Friday typically during the day
  • Utilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows and spare part inventory
  • Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance
  • Respond to off hour emergency calls per on call rotation for any one of the region's sites
  • Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies
  • Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
  • Manipulate small wires and objects

Job description

Operations Service Team (OST) Technicians are Amazon's front line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical operations and troubleshooting. They maintain, operate, troubleshoot, and repair Data Center Operation's Mission Critical Facilities, which includes stand‑by diesel generators and related fuel systems, 3 phase electrical systems that include but not limited to switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, wet cell batteries and associated systems, CRAC, air handlers and associated systems, pumps, & motors.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. Upon application you will be asked qualifying questions that will be used only in relation to the US Government Security Clearance required for this role.

Key job responsibilities
