About the Role

ITA International is seeking an Operations Research Analyst to join the team at Fort Meade in Annapolis Junction, MD. The analyst will analyze management and operational problems, formulate mathematical or simulation models, and work with clients to define data requirements, gather and validate information, and apply statistical tests.

Responsibilities

• Develop mathematical or simulation models for operational problems.
• Perform verification and testing of models to ensure adequacy, and determine the need for reformulation.
• Prepare reports defining the problem, evaluation, and possible solutions.
• Assist in evaluating implementation and effectiveness of research.
• Design, conduct, and evaluate operational models when limited data exists.
• Conduct data elicitation sessions and project scoping meetings as needed.
• Prepare summary briefings describing project problem statements, modeling approaches, and proposed solutions.
• Participate in regular customer engagement.
• Develop technical trainings to enrich client personnel skills and support other project teams.

Qualifications

• Must have a TS/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or Management Science and at least five (5) years of experience in conducting analyses of management and operational problems using Operations Research techniques.
• Master’s degree in the same fields and at least three (3) years of experience.
• Doctorate degree in the same fields and at least one (1) year of experience.
• At least one (1) year of experience with M&S applied to Decision Analysis problems.
• At least one (1) year of experience with M&S applied to Cost/Benefit Analysis problems.
• Proficiency in at least five of the following tools: R, Python, EXCEL/VBA, ARENA, OCTAVE, Tableau, Gurobi/CPLEX, EXTEND SIM, SAS, NETICA, statsmodels, Stata, MATLAB, SPSS.
• Experience in gathering data needed to run models, developing mathematical or simulation modeling prototypes, proposing potential modeling approaches, conducting analyses of management and operational problems, formulating models for solution by computers or other methods, and applying statistical tests to validate information.
