Job summary

HF Sinclair in Lovington, NM is seeking an Operations Relief. This entry-level role spans operations, lab, blending or maintenance with progression based on seniority and qualifications.

The position requires rotating 24/7 shifts, weekends and holidays, and being part of the Fire Brigade Team. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to perform basic math, operate tools and equipment, and follow all safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, and computer skills, mechanically inclined; entry knowledge, understanding and ability to comply with all Federal, State, Local, and Company regulations, policies, guidelines, and procedures, including use of tools (hand tools and power tools) and other equipment such as shovels and rakes and operation(s) of fork lift, tractor, or man-lift.
• Required to complete all required certifications and training for job level and showing competency in basic tasks under direct supervision while completing classroom and CBT training and expectations.
• Basic reading and writing skills. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication.

HF Sinclair located in Lovington, NM is seeking an Operations Relief. The Operations Relief is an entry-level position for all classifications (operations, lab, blending or maintenance) within the refinery. Progress to other positions are dependent on seniority and qualifications if applicable.

Job Duties

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Hours of Work:

This position requires rotating shift work 24/7 including weekend and holidays; as well as, overtime. A 7 on 7 off 12 hour shift schedule is standard in Operations. Required to work extended hours outside of routing schedule; including weekends, holidays, etc. New employees must reside within 60 mins of the refinery.

A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Work Conditions

Outdoor based with up to 5% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment, and occasional driver-based environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, and working in confined spaces. Subject to all temperatures, weather and varying road conditions. Must be available to work a flexible schedule (e.g. overtime, weekends, and holiday, rotating shifts).

Physical Requirements

Individual must be able to climb to heights more than 150 and work in close confined spaces. Must be able to wear respiratory protection equipment and have minimal and manicured facial hair. Beards are prohibited for this position. A comprehensive physical examination must be satisfactorily completed.
