Job summary

Skydio, the leading US drone company, is seeking an Operations Program Manager Intern to join our Hardware team and help coordinate hardware development from early design through testing, manufacturing, launch, and sustaining.

You will work with cross-functional partners to manage milestones, track risks, prepare concise updates, organize meetings, and drive action items to completion while gaining hands-on experience in robotics and advanced manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, operations, or related field.
  • Interest in hardware product development, robotics, consumer electronics, automotive systems, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and details.
  • Clear written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Analytical and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Support cross-functional hardware development programs across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, testing, and other teams.
  • Develop and maintain program plans, schedules, milestones, and action-item trackers.
  • Coordinate engineering builds, test readiness, supplier activities, and other critical product-development efforts.
  • Track program progress, identify potential risks or blockers, and help ensure issues are communicated to stakeholders.
  • Prepare clear, concise program updates and help keep cross-functional teams aligned around priorities and upcoming milestones.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, document decisions, and follow up with owners to drive action items to completion.
  • Analyze program data and help create tools, dashboards, or processes that improve visibility and team efficiency.
  • Take ownership of a scoped program or operational improvement project during your internship.

About the role

Skydio is looking for an Operations Program Manager Intern to join our Hardware team and support the development of the next generation of autonomous flight technology.

In this role, you will work alongside technical operations program managers and cross-functional partners to help coordinate hardware development programs from early design through testing, manufacturing, launch, and sustaining. You will gain firsthand experience managing complex technical projects, identifying risks, and helping engineering teams stay aligned around critical milestones.

What makes you a good fit
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, operations, supply chain, manufacturing, business, or a related field.

  • Interest in hardware product development, robotics, consumer electronics, automotive systems, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and details.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with an interest in working across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Analytical and comfortable using data to understand problems and inform decisions.

  • Proactive, resourceful, and willing to take ownership in a fast-moving environment.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, asking questions, and learning new technical concepts.

  • Experience with project management, engineering projects, manufacturing, robotics teams, internships, or student organizations is a plus but not required.

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is $47/hr for Undergrad, $53/hr for Graduate students, and $58/hr for PhD students*. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Interns are eligible to receive the following benefits: Paid vacation time, sick leave, holiday pay and 401K savings plan. This position and all associated benefits are subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as the Company’s policies and eligibility criteria.
