Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. seeks an Operations Planning Manager to lead distribution center workflows, ensuring on-time shipments and balanced production across all zones.

You will use automated tools and real-time data to steer staffing plans and coordinate with DC leaders to keep service levels high. You will drive risk mitigation, postmortems, and KPI reporting while partnering with enterprise planning to optimize performance and cost.

Qualifications

• College degree in Engineering, Operations, Logistics or related field.
• At least 5 years' experience as a department or operations lead in a distribution/fulfillment or other light industrial environment.
• Expertise in SQL and VBA, Excel Macro creation and modification.
• Experience in Anaplan and Tableau a plus.
• Ability to handle multiple projects, deadlines, and stressful situations with minimal management oversight
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to coordinate multi-department operational decisions.
• Ability to work well in a team environment remotely and as an advisor
• Key performance indicator (KPI) reporting experience in operations
• Demonstrated experience using data to drive root cause elimination and process improvement
• Desire to thrive in a dynamic, growing environment
• Experience as a Master Scheduler in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage DC processing and shipment workflows using automated tools and web platforms.
• Maintain constant and proactive virtual communication with DC Operations leaders regarding shipment workflow status.
• Execute and develop shift production and staffing plans based on DC Operational requirements and adjust in real-time as variables change.
• Trial new tools and systems and provide feedback on functionality, while gathering DC Operations feedback.
• Collaborate and provide liaison support with enterprise planning teams to provide inputs on risk mitigation in the event of unplanned disruptions.
• Act as an advisor to DC Operations, Maintenance and Support leaders and provide recommendations and guidance to ensure the maintenance of a strong partnership and achievement of common goals: delivering for customers and stores.
• Drive risk management strategies for Distribution Centers to ensure Service Level Agreements for customer and store shipments are met.
• Responsible for pre-planning, risk management and postmortem reporting of performance.

The operations planning manager manages volume and workflow across our distribution center (DC) to meet service-level and productivity goals. This leader understands a complex, technical operation and knows how to prioritize the work that matters most while keeping every processing area in balance. They also lead regular reviews of operational status and plans, and coach building leaders on how their decisions affect the flow of the entire building.

A Day in the Life...

Pay Range Details

Pay Range Details The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations. Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. $69,500.00 - $115,000.00 Annual
