Job summary

GXO is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a team of Shift Managers at the Ollerton site. You will own site performance, drive continuous improvement, and ensure exceptional service, productivity, and safety across the operation.

This is a full-time, permanent role on a 4 on 4 off night shift (19:00–07:00). You will coach leaders, optimise labour planning, and balance cost, safety and customer satisfaction while maintaining an engaged, high-performing culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing multiple direct reports at Shift Manager level or equivalent in a fast-paced logistics/warehouse operation.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop large teams.
• Experience working in eCommerce, retail distribution or high-volume warehouse environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Shift Managers to drive engagement, accountability and results.
• Drive operational performance against KPIs, SLAs and productivity targets.
• Champion a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and training.
• Manage labour planning and resource utilisation to cover peak/seasonal demand.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

If you answered yes, then GXO has an exciting opportunity to an Operations Manager at our Ollerton site. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced operational leader to take ownership of site performance, drive continuous improvement, and lead a team of Shift Managers to deliver outstanding service, productivity, and safety standards.

As Operations Manager, you’ll provide leadership and direction to Shift Managers, ensuring operational excellence across the site while maintaining a safe, engaged, and customer-focused culture.

This is a full-time, permanent position. You will work on a '4 on 4 off' basis, covering the hours of 19:00 till 07:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
