Amazon seeks an Operations Manager for Global Procurement Central Services AMER to lead a sizable organization across non-inventory supply readiness for hundreds of sites. You will collaborate with Category, Supplier Management, and Site Procurement, balancing risk and efficiency in the global supply chain.

Qualifications

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements.
  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or MBA in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field.
  • 5+ years of supply chain management experience (logistics, inventory turn, forecasting, operations).
  • Experience in supplier relationship management (SLAs management, performance/scorecarding).
  • Knowledge of ERP and procurement tools, including Oracle, Coupa and Ariba.
  • 5+ years of cross-functional with tech and non-tech teams experience, or MBA with 2+ years cross-functional project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an org of ~40 managers, team leads, and specialists executing on consumable ordering and invoice on hold management.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to ensure continuity of supply of goods and services within the network.
  • Manage multiple complex cross-team projects end-to-end.
  • Partner with internal teams to identify problems and real-time solutions, including data analytics and reporting.
  • Provide weekly reporting of team performance and KPIs to senior leadership.
  • Create buy-in for the vision with key internal partners.

GPCS, reporting into the Global Procurement Organization (GPO), ensures that Amazon gets value for money for non-inventory goods to provide the Fulfillment Centers with the necessary shipping supplies they need to operate smoothly. This includes securing the constant flow of packaging goods and services, supplied at the best overall value to the business on a day to day basis, Blanket Purchase Order management, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) bridging ownership, Accounts Payable invoice hold resolution, site launch support, and escalation management. GPCS AMER currently provides these services for >3000 sites across 6 countries.

Key job responsibilities
  • Manage an org of ~40 managers, team leads, and specialists executing on consumable ordering, invoice on hold management, service escalations, and continuous improvement initiatives within the indirect supply chain
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to ensure the continuity of supply of goods and services within the network
  • Manage multiple complex cross-team projects end-to-end
  • Partner with internal teams to identify problems and real-time solutions, including data analytics and reporting
  • Provide weekly reporting of team performance and KPIs to senior leadership
  • Create buy-in for the vision with key internal partners
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree, or MBA in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
  • 5+ years of supply chain management (e.g. logistics, inventory turn management, forecasting, operations) experience
  • Experience in supplier relationship management (e.g. SLAs management, performance/scorecarding)
  • Knowledge of ERP and procurement tools, including Oracle, Coupa and Ariba
  • 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience, or a MBA and 2+ years of cross functional project delivery experience
  • 5+ years of previous management experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree
  • Lean-Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Experience with Six Sigma tools and Lean techniques
  • Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience completing complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround
  • Experience using Excel at an advanced level including practical knowledge of VBA/macros and advanced Excel functions

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
