Job summary

Viking Electric in Rochester, MN is seeking an Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations at one location. This hands-on role focuses on people leadership, safety, and delivering a great customer experience.

You will oversee staffing, inventory, fleet, facilities, and cross-functional collaboration with Sales, HR, and Corporate Supply Chain. The position offers a competitive salary with bonus opportunities and a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in operations, logistics, or distribution.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of, or ability to learn and enforce, DOT rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of distribution and warehouse processes, equipment, and procedures.
• Strong organizational, analytical, critical-thinking, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to lead, coach, motivate, and develop a team.
• Ability to work effectively across departments.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Schedule: Standard Daytime hours, Monday-Friday (in-office)

Base Salary: $81,000 - $111,000 annually (pay increases within range based on comparable people management experience brought to role)

Viking Electric is looking for an Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations at one of our locations. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys developing people, improving processes, solving problems, and creating a safe, efficient operation that delivers a great customer experience.

What You'll Do

As an Operations Manager, you'll oversee key areas of the location's operations, including:

• Lead, develop, and support operations associates and leaders
• Manage daily productivity, workflow, staffing, inventory, fleet, and customer service
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure policies and procedures are followed

What We're Looking For

Required experience:

• 4+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or a distribution environment
• 2+ years of supervisory experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Knowledge of, or ability to learn and enforce, DOT rules and regulations
• Knowledge of distribution and warehouse processes, equipment, and procedures
• Strong organizational, analytical, critical-thinking, and customer-service skills
• Ability to lead, coach, motivate, and develop a team
• Ability to work effectively across departments
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to work in both office and operations environments
• Moderate travel
• Role may involve operating powered industrial equipment and physical activities including lifting, bending, twisting, climbing, crouching, and squatting
