Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead daytoday operations for construction and fire protection projects.
  • Serve as senior Project Manager with schedules, budgets and resources.

  • Oversee subcontractor selection, management and contract compliance.
  • Enforce safety and quality programs; OSHA 30 preferred.

  • Act as resident representative on site and liaise with owners/consultants.
  • Ensure codes/standards compliance across healthcare, commercial, retail, etc.

Operations Manager Construction & Fire Systems
Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee construction and fire systems operations across a portfolio of projects. The role is responsible for ensuring delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will combine strong project management and construction experience with specific expertise in fire protection and fire sprinkler systems, and will coordinate multidiscipline teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage daytoday operations for construction and fire protection projects, ensuring alignment with company goals, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as senior Project Manager for assigned projects, developing and maintaining schedules, budgets, and resource plans to meet milestones and financial targets.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for fire protection and fire sprinkler design, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate multidiscipline teams including piping, process piping, wet and dry utilities, underground utilities, pipeline, grading, civil construction, electrical, and power delivery work as required by the project scope.
  • Oversee subcontractor selection, management, performance monitoring, and contract compliance; conduct prequalification and manage scope changes.
  • Implement and enforce safety and quality programs, including OSHA 30 compliance, site safety plans, and inspections; lead incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Use construction management platforms (Procore) and GIS tools to manage documentation, drawing control, RFIs, change orders, and project communications.
  • Prepare and review estimates, cost forecasts, and financial reports; identify and drive costsaving and efficiency improvements through preplanning and value engineering.
  • Act as resident representative/client point of contact on site where required; lead coordination with owners, consultants, utilities, and permitting authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards for healthcare, commercial, retail, clinics, K12, and other market sectors; support commissioning and turnover activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery processes, including lessons learned, staff development, and operational best practices.
Qualifications
  • Required: Proven experience as a Project Manager or Operations Manager in construction with specific handson experience in fire protection and fire sprinkler systems.
  • Required: Demonstrated construction experience managing commercial, healthcare, retail, clinics or K12 projects and a strong understanding of related codes and standards.
  • Required: Strong project management skills including schedule development, budget control, estimating, and preplanning.
  • Required: Experience coordinating piping/process piping, wet utilities, dry utilities, and underground utilities or similar civil construction elements.
  • Required: Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead teams and subcontractors on complex sites.
  • Required: Familiarity with Procore or other construction management platforms and experience with documentation control, RFIs, and change management.
  • Preferred: OSHA 30 certification.
  • Preferred: Experience with pipeline projects, UG utilities, grading, civil construction, electrical/substation works, power generation/high voltage/AIS/power delivery, or EPC projects.
  • Preferred: Experience with GIS, resident engineering roles, estimates, and preplanning activities.
  • Preferred: PMP or similar project management certification and/or a Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Preferred: Ability to travel to project sites as needed and a valid drivers license.
