Employment Status: Full time–Day Shift (United States of America) –Facility: 1906 Belleview Ave SE, Roanoke, VA

Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day leadership for the successful implementation and execution of unit goals, action plans, and objectives.
• Oversee unit throughput, patient experience rounding, and employee engagement rounding.
• Monitor quarterly quality metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Plan and manage the department budget, monitor expenses, and implement cost‑containment ideas.
• Coordinate staffing to maintain an optimal staff mix and ensure adequate coverage.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary rounds and ensure efficient unit throughput.
• Communicate staff priorities, provide real‑time feedback, and resolve service recovery issues.
• Build partnerships with other department leaders to implement new health‑care services and performance improvement initiatives.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations of nursing staff.
• Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families that respects patient rights.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing school with a BSN required (or to be obtained within 18 months for non‑Magnet facilities).
• Minimum of 2 years in a clinical nursing role.
• Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• American Heart Association BLS‑HCP required; BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required based on the specific unit.
• Pre‑employment de‑escalation training if the role is within Psychiatry or Behavioral Health; must be completed within four months of hire and thereafter maintained.
• Proven problem‑solving, interpersonal, communication, team leadership, and priority‑setting skills.
• Ability to appropriately manage or restrain disruptive or physically violent patients (for Psychiatry/Behavioral Health roles).

Compensation

Salary range: $89,232.00 – $142,771.20 (based on qualifications, credentials, and experience). Benefits and pension are not included in this range.
