Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. in Horn Lake, MS is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee critical areas of our warehouse operations on the 2nd shift.

You will lead a team, ensure customer commitments are met, and enforce quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives. The role requires hands-on leadership, experience in logistics or manufacturing, and the ability to hire, train, and evaluate staff, coordinate maintenance, and implement programs that enhance operational efficiency and service

Qualifications

• 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and computerized scanner equipment.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field.
• 4 years of managerial/supervisory experience.
• Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment.
• Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Process Improvement knowledge and experience.
• Experience in warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL).
• Ability to maintain a safe work environment by monitoring and enforcing safety procedures across all departments.
• Strong problem-solving techniques and statistical analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate an understanding of GXO’s quality policies; establish procedures for maintaining quality objectives.
• Provide guidance to supervisors with respect to personnel, quality and safety.
• Hire, train, develop and appraise staff effectively.
• Make recommendations on programs to improve operations.
• Handle equipment and coordinate all maintenance needs with the maintenance team.
• Ensure records are maintained appropriately and reports are completed in a timely manner.
• Adhere to and enforce all safe work practices, ensuring the warehouse is compliant with OSHA and other pertinent standards/regulations.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Communicate with customers, vendors and team members to ensure customer commitments are met

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:
