Position Overview
The Operations Manager must demonstrate strong leadership abilities that empower teams to achieve operational goals. This role requires a commitment to quality and safety, as well as the ability to work collaboratively across departments. The position schedule is Sunday through Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Production Managers for 1st and 2nd shift, along with supervisors and employees on the designated shift, including full‑time and temporary staff.
- Work closely with management across multiple departments.
- Manage weekly schedules to positively impact productivity and ensure all teams are completed each week.
- Ensure all production lines are properly staffed, including machine operators.
- Train, coach, and recognize employees.
- Ensure proper onboarding of new staff, including temporary workers, and monitor training schedules.
- Perform labor forecasting to support appropriate staffing and production planning weekly and monthly.
- Initiate and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all production employees, including sanitation procedures alongside the FSQA Manager.
- Oversee the Warehouse Manager and warehouse activities.
- Manage raw product supply, slotting, and packaging supply.
- Supervise inventory team operations.
- Ensure products meet the highest quality standards in product integrity, packaging, coding, appearance, and other indicators.
- Conduct regular team meetings to maintain alignment, review goals, and discuss deliverables.
- Understand and be able to fill in for all production team positions as needed; this is a hands‑on role.
- Document notable positive or negative items in coordination with Human Resources.
- Meet production rates and yields as defined by operational goals, including monitoring and reporting KPIs.
- Complete root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with the General Manager to ensure efficient business operations.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment and ensure all safety rules are followed.
Requirements
- Experience working in a production environment. Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
- Ability to work in a refrigerated environment (40 degrees and below).
- Ability to learn Produce Pro. Must be bilingual (English / Spanish).
- Knowledge of GMP in manufacturing.
- Experience working in an SQF plant, with knowledge of food safety and Good Food Handling Practices.
Physical Requirements
- Able to walk through a manufacturing facility in multiple buildings, including refrigerated and frozen warehousing areas.
- Able to climb up and down stairs to access various parts of the facility.
- Able to sit at and work on a computer.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds; frequent reaching, bending, and stooping.
