Operations Manager
Cordica Medical | Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
About the Role

Cordica Medical is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead manufacturing and maintenance operations at our Sunrise, Florida location. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who thrives on driving operational excellence, building strong teams, and delivering results in a regulated manufacturing environment.

As Operations Manager, you'll take direct ownership of plant performance — ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality production that meets our demand plan while upholding the highest engineering, quality, and regulatory standards. You'll lead manufacturing, maintenance, warehouse, area managers, engineers, and other site teams, with full responsibility across hiring, performance management, coaching, and employee development.

What You’ll Do
  • Partner closely with the development team to ensure manufacturing processes demonstrate strong process capability and consistent output
  • Provide leadership for pilot operations and support scale‑up to large manufacturing sites across the Cordica Medical network
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement grounded in a deep understanding of the metrics that drive financial performance
  • Track key performance indicators (absorption, variance, scrap, OTD, complaint rate, etc.) and lead corrective actions when targets aren’t met
  • Use data analytics from ERP systems, production data, and cost accounting to evaluate and improve manufacturing processes — and make sure improvements stick
  • Build strong relationships across Cordica Medical and with external suppliers, customers, auditors, and community partners
  • Apply lean tools (Six Sigma, DOE, TPM, MRP planning) to reduce costs, cut scrap and rework, and improve on‑time delivery
  • Own the plant’s capital planning process, from goal‑setting through final review of capital requests
  • Champion compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, MDSAP, GMP, and social audit standards, along with quality improvement and product validation initiatives
  • Set the EH&S tone for the plant — tracking TRIR/LWDR, leading corrective actions, participating in safety investigations and committees, and keeping the plant inspection‑ready at all times
  • Collaborate with plant and corporate finance and commercial leaders on budgeting and strategic execution
  • Coach and develop staff to reach their full potential and prepare for future advancement
  • Take on cross‑facility projects, strategic initiatives, and internal/external audits as needed
What You Bring
  • Strong leadership and people‑management skills, with a track record of building agile, effective teams through training, motivation, and clear communication
  • Strong analytical skills — able to interpret operating data and financial statements to identify and solve problems
  • Hands‑on experience with lean manufacturing and operational tools: Change Management, Project Management, Cellular Manufacturing, Kaizen, A3, Waste Elimination, Level Production, One Piece Flow, DOE, Poka‑Yoke, Jidoka, and more
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and validation processes: SAT/FAT, IQ/OQ/PQ, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, MDSAP, GMP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking communication skills
Education & Experience*
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of manufacturing experience, including 2+ years in a plant or plant department management role
  • Six Sigma certification, MBA, and/or AX experience is a plus
  • Experience in medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing is a strong plus

*Equivalent combinations of experience and training may be considered in lieu of the above requirements.
