Low Country Lubricants is a growing family-owned lubricant and industrial products distributor serving customers throughout Coastal Georgia and the Lowcountry.


We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead daily operations, strengthen internal systems, develop people, improve processes, and make a direct impact on a growing company.

The Operations Manager serves as ownership’s right hand, ensuring smooth daily operations while helping build the structure, accountability, and operational discipline needed to support continued growth. This individual will act as the operational leader and primary point of accountability when ownership is out of the office.

Veterans, transitioning military personnel, and candidates with logistics, supply chain, transportation, inventory management, maintenance leadership, warehouse leadership, or operations management experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Position Summary

The Operations Manager oversees warehouse operations, inventory management, shipping and receiving, order fulfillment, customer service, office administration, and team coordination while working directly with ownership.

This role is critical to the company’s growth and success. The ideal candidate takes ownership of operations, leads by example, develops people, improves systems, and drives accountability across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

Business Operations Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations and maintain smooth business flow
  • Serve as the operational decision-maker when ownership is unavailable
  • Take ownership of daily execution, accountability, and follow-through across the business
  • Uphold high standards for customer service, professionalism, urgency, and accountability
  • Proactively identify challenges, solve problems, and implement improvements before they impact customers or operations
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, organization, profitability, and customer satisfaction

Warehouse & Inventory Management

  • Maintain ownership of warehouse standards, organization, inventory accuracy, and operational readiness
  • Receive shipments and verify products against purchase orders and bills of lading
  • Document discrepancies, shortages, damages, and receiving issues
  • Conduct cycle counts, inventory audits, and follow-up activities
  • Improve inventory control processes and warehouse procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient warehouse environment
  • Safely operate forklifts and material-handling equipment while promoting safe operating practices throughout the organization
  • Establish and enforce inventory control procedures that support accuracy, accountability, and operational efficiency
  • Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for delivery or shipment
  • Coordinate fulfillment with drivers and shipping partners
  • Process UPS and freight shipments
  • Monitor order status and ensure timely delivery
  • Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and logistics records
  • Answer customer calls and assist walk-in customers
  • Support product selection, purchases, and outside sales activities
  • Develop product knowledge and understand customer applications
  • Build customer relationships through prompt, professional service
  • Help identify customer needs, sales opportunities, and service improvements

Office Administration

  • Process transactions in Intuit
  • Maintain customer and vendor records
  • Create and manage operational reports using Excel
  • Manage communications through Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams
  • Assist ownership with reporting, follow-up, planning, and administrative coordination

Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Create efficient workflows, performance expectations, and accountability systems
  • Train, coach, and develop employees on procedures, safety expectations, equipment operation, and best practices
  • Support onboarding and development of new team members
  • Lead and support drivers, warehouse personnel, and support staff
  • Promote a culture of ownership, urgency, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in operations, logistics, inventory control, warehouse management, distribution, transportation, military logistics, or a related field
  • Experience leading people, processes, and results
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example, drive accountability, and improve operational performance
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Experience with inventory control, warehouse operations, receiving procedures, and shipping documentation
  • Experience safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing responsibilities, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

Preferred

  • Small business operations, supervisory, or management experience
  • Industry experience in lubricants, industrial products, automotive, heavy equipment, transportation, agriculture, or distribution
  • Experience creating procedures, training materials, or process-improvement initiatives
