Job summary

Talbots in Bedford, NH is seeking an experienced store leader to drive exceptional customer service and sales performance. You will coach a diverse team, oversee daily operations, and execute floor sets, merchandising, recalls, and markdowns to uphold brand standards.

You will partner with management to maintain hospitality, compliance with policies and laws, and build lasting relationships with customers and staff.

Qualifications

  • Two+ years in specialty retail with emphasis on store operations or visual merchandising.
  • Customer-centric with strong service mindset to grow sales.
  • Educator and mentor who inspires team members by leveraging individual strengths.
  • Organized and strategic with the ability to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear communicator of business information and brand initiatives.
  • Ambitious, enthusiastic, and friendly; able to work with diverse teams.
  • Technological aptitude to navigate POS/iPad/handheld systems.
  • Able to bend, lift at least 40 lbs, and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexible schedule including opening/closing shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Open availability of 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Create and foster a culture of hospitality through exceptional customer experiences.
  • Provide exceptional service to promote product and build brand relationships.
  • Achieve sales and service metrics in key areas such as Clientelling/Outreach and appointments.
  • Partner with the Manager to lead the team in all operations aspects.
  • Plan, execute and lead floor sets, displays, recalls and markdowns.
  • Educate and reinforce brand standards and company policies.
  • Balance operational and selling energy with proper planning and prioritization.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and competitive landscape to maximize sales.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws, and foster positive relationships.

Who You Are:
  • An experienced leader, with two or more years of specialty retail experience with emphasis on store operations and/or visual merchandising.
  • A model of professionalism with strong work ethic, integrity, and respect for others.

  • An educator, coach and mentor that inspires team associates based on their individual strengths.

  • Possess the technological aptitude to navigate, coach and train computer POS/iPad/handheld systems.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders, moving around regularly, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Able to bend, reach, stretch for product as well as lift, carry, and move at least 40 lbs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the business including opening/closing shifts as well as weekends and holidays.
  • Have open availability of 40 hours per week.
What You'll Do:
  • Create and foster a culture of hospitality through exceptional customer experiences and build enduring relationships both internally and externally.
  • Provide an exceptional and meaningful customer service experience that promotes the product and builds brand relationships.
  • Achieve sales and service metrics in key measurable areas including: Clientelling/Outreach, Appointment Setting, Talbots Classic Awards etc.
  • Partner with the Manager to lead the team with ownership as it relates to all areas of operations.
  • Plan, execute and lead floor sets, window displays, interior marketing, recalls, markdowns etc.
  • Educate, train, and reinforce brand standards as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Understand the appropriate balance needed between operational and selling energy and ensure proper planning/scheduling and prioritizing tasks and responsibilities to meet the needs of the business.
  • Maintain knowledge of business and competitive landscape, fashion trends and key business drivers to strategically identify opportunities that will maximize sales and ensure financial goals are achieved.
  • Ensure compliance of all company policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal employment laws.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships that support a productive work environment.
