Arvato Bertelsmann in Memphis, TN seeks an Outbound Operations Manager to oversee daily production and distribution for the facility. You’ll ensure adherence to safety, quality, and cost objectives while leading front-end staff and coordinating with customers.

You will monitor schedules, drive improvements, manage performance reviews and hiring, and serve as the communication link between operations and customers to keep metrics in check and operations under control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to function in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment.
• Experience developing, motivating, and leading cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and adjust processes to meet production schedules, due dates, priorities, shipping requirements, and handle peak volumes.
• Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality, while ensuring compliance with standards.
• Provide support and training on company policies to employees.
• Monitor time and attendance records of direct reports.
• Develop employees through performance reviews, ongoing training, and by managing hiring, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Execute all business review preparation and action logs.
• Serve as key communication link between operations and customers.
• Create or use metrics to verify operation is under control.
• Follow safety and 5S guidelines.
• Handle additional tasks to maintain efficient, safe, and goal-oriented work environment.

Job Description

The Outbound Operations Manager at Arvato manages daily production and distribution activities for the entire facility.The Outbound Operations Manager must display a thorough understanding of the customer requisition process, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, reliability, and cost objectives. Additionally, they will be responsible for overseeing the front-end staff involved in this process, necessitating strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure seamless operations.

YOUR TASKS

• Monitor and adjust processes to meet production schedules, due dates, priorities, shipping requirements, and handle peak volumes.
• Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality, while ensuring compliance with production, quality, reliability, and safety standards.
• Provide support and training on company policies to employees.
• Monitor time and attendance records of direct reports.
• Develop employees through performance reviews, ongoing training, and by managing the hiring process, evaluations, disciplinary actions, and performance counseling.
• Execute all business review preparation, responsible for all action logs and items resulting from business reviews.
• Serve as key communication link between operations and all customers.
• Create or use existing metrics to verify operation is under control.
• Abide by all company safety and hygiene regulations.
• Follow and maintain 5S Program and guidelines.
• Any additional tasks that may be assigned to ensure an efficient, safe, clean, and goal-oriented work environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Must possess ability to function in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment.
• Experience developing, motivating, and leading cross functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills:

• Customer service and operation experience.
• Proven leadership capabilities with ability to interact easily with individuals at all levels and functions, both within and outside the organization.
• Must be motivated, analytical, and articulate.
• Proactive in driving improvement processes.
• 1-3 yrs experience with SAP
