Job summary

AmeriPro Health is seeking an EMS Operations Supervisor to oversee daily field operations in the absence of senior management, ensuring zone coverage, compliance, and coordination with responding agencies.

You will supervise field staff, maintain schedules/records, and act as a liaison to Training, CQI, HR, Payroll, Billing, and Communications with a focus on cost effectiveness and safe transport.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years EMS field experience preferred.
  • Certified Paramedic with ACLS and BLS; BPPC/PALS/PHTLS/BTLS preferred.
  • Valid state Drivers license.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Word & Excel).
  • FEMA IS certs: IS-100; IS-200; IS-700; IS-800.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises day-to-day field operation employees in the absence of senior management.
  • Ensures staff have the required equipment to perform duties.
  • Acts as liaison to Training, CQI, Payroll, HR, Billing, and Communications.
  • Prepares for mechanical breakdowns, accidents, exposures, and daily shift activities.
  • Maintains daily schedule and records.
  • Ensures units have supplies and proper state records.
  • Ensures adherence to policies, procedures, and patient care protocols.
  • Assists Director in evaluating employee performance and certifications.
  • Oversees deployment and efficiency of the EMS system.
  • Performs Paramedic duties as required.
  • Responds to scenes with crews and coordinates transport in Mass Casualty Incidents.

Employees hired into this position are subject to a six-month introductory probationary period.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervises day-to-day field operation employees in the absence of senior management.
  • Ensures field employees have the required equipment to perform the essential functions of their assigned duties.
  • Serves as liaison for field staff to other departments (i.e., Training, CQI, Payroll, Human Resources, Billing, Communication.)
  • Prepares appropriate involving mechanical breakdowns, accident investigation, exposures, daily shift activities, and other incidents that may occur.
  • Responsible for maintaining daily schedule and discrepancies.
  • Maintains appropriate training records, maintenance records, and any required state specific records.
  • Responsible for ensuring all units have adequate supplies as well as ensuring all supplies are ordered.
  • Ensures assigned employees consistently adherent to policies, procedures, guidelines, directives and standards.
  • Ensures that Patient Care Protocols are adhered to.
  • Assist the Director in evaluating the performance of employees assigned to him/her, maintain attendance records, and ensure employees maintain required certifications.
  • Supervisors and monitors the overall deployment and efficiency of the established system.
  • Shall perform the duties outlined in the Paramedic Job Description as required.
  • Performs all of the above functions in accordance with established financial and operational plans and goals pertaining to cost effectiveness and efficient management.
  • Shall respond to the scene of calls with crews and shall assume transport sector officer and coordinate ambulance transport in the event of a Mass Casualty Incident
  • Will first respond on calls that they are the closest resource, will also have mandatory response needs based on acuity of call, i.e., DOA, Multi System Trauma, Life Threatening Emergencies, etc.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to use hands to type; effective hearing and speaking capabilities
  • Required to sit for extended periods at a time
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crouch
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • May often lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the EMS field preferred.

  • Current State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification / licensure in good standing
