Job summary

City of New York is seeking a City Park Worker for Arsenal, Manhattan, to support NYC Parks in inspecting parks, playgrounds, restrooms, recreation centers, and golf courses. You will use handheld devices and GIS to map features and produce reports for management.

Open to current full-time Parks employees; you will participate in special projects and travel across the five boroughs to ensure quality and safety of park facilities.

Qualifications

• There are no formal education or experience requirements for this position.
• A Motor Vehicle Driver's License valid in the State of New York is required.
• Ability to read and to understand and obey orders is required.
• There are certain medical and physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision, inspect parks and playgrounds, public restrooms, recreation centers and golf courses using a handheld computer and digital camera.
• Utilize knowledge and apply standards for various inspection programs.
• Locate and drive to inspection sites throughout the five boroughs.
• Employ Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology to map park features.
• Produce inspection reports using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Participate in special projects as needed.
