Nucor Corporation seeks an Operations Management Internship for Summer 2027 across Louisville, Houston, Kansas City, Cincinnati and Salt Lake City, with other locations in Texas, Kansas, Ohio and Utah. The role offers $27.00 per hour plus relocation assistance.

You’ll learn scrap metal recycling operations, safety practices, and leadership skills through hands-on experiences in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Qualificações

• Rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Strong organizational and adaptability skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to build relationships, collaborate, and work with teams.
• Ability to creatively solve problems.

Responsabilidades

• Participate in daily safety meetings and model Nucor’s Safety First culture, including OSHA practices.
• Learn scrap metal identification, buying, inspecting, processing, QC and inventory practices.
• Gain exposure to day-to-day operations, transportation and logistics, and equipment maintenance.
• Support daily facility operations, including material receiving and inbound/outbound coordination.
• Interact with teammates, managers, customers, vendors and other partners to resolve problems and ensure steady delivery.
• Collaborate with operations leaders to understand planning and directing work across the organization.
• Review operational data, identify trends and suggest proactive improvements to safety, productivity, cost, or customer service.
• Learn how operations decisions protect assets and profitability.
• Complete a summer-long business project and present recommendations to division leadership.
• Build cross-department relationships and participate in planning meetings.
• Expect to travel between facilities.
• Work outside in extreme weather in an industrial environment.
• Be willing to relocate after graduation.
