Job summary

MGM Products, Inc. in Henderson, NC, is seeking a Shop Lead for 1st shift to supervise daily production and lead safety and production meetings. This hands-on role requires guiding a team to meet daily goals while upholding quality standards.

You will move materials, monitor production progress, and ensure a safe work environment. Forklift operation and blueprint-reading skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising a production team on the shop floor.
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings.
• Able to lift 50 lbs frequently.
• Forklift certified.

• Flexible to changing production needs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure 100% safety and cleanliness of the shop.
• Hold team accountable to production goals and quality standards. Work off the schedule provided by the Production Manager and hit daily/monthly production goals.
• Move raw materials, work in process, and finished products safely between departments as needed to support the production schedule. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other material-handling equipment in accordance with company safety requirements. Monitor material locations and report shortages, damage, or discrepancies.
• Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks safely. Verify incoming materials and outgoing shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and other required documents.
• Empty metal scrap, trash, and other designated dumpsters or containers as needed. Ensure scrap materials and waste are placed in the correct containers. Maintain clean and safe aisles, loading areas, staging areas, and outdoor waste areas.
• Maintain high level of quality: work with Quality on reporting defects and help to continue to make improvements.
• Great work ethic and lead by example.

Shift: 1st Shift Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

MGM Products is a fast-paced, growing company that has been in business for 40 years. We manufacture sheet metal products for the HVAC industry. We are seeking driven, dedicated, and positive people to help us grow and continue to satisfy our customers.

We are looking for a Shop Lead to supervise 1st shift. This individual must be able to lead the team to deliver daily production goals. Responsibilities include leading daily production/safety meetings, deliver scheduled production goals provided, perform Quality Control, all while promoting a safe work environment. This is a working lead position and not a supervisor.
