Job summary

Wwshemi is seeking an operations-focused professional to own a core domain in customer, payments, or financial crime operations at an early-stage fintech. You will build processes, metrics, tooling, and automations, partnering directly with the COO and collaborating with Product and Engineering.

The role emphasizes shipping production workflow automations, end-to-end domain ownership, and KPI definition, with on-site work in New York.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building products or processes in banking, fintech, payments, or regulated services.
• Experience shipping production workflow automations or AI/LLM-based systems.
• Hands-on operational experience: queue management, case handling, or transactions.
• Own end-to-end operational domains: design, SOPs, KPIs, tooling.
• Define and optimize operational metrics with Product and Engineering collaboration.
• Experience in regulated financial services; compliance or financial crime exposure is a plus.
• Experience scaling operations in early-stage or high-growth env is valuable.

What You'll Do

• Handle operational cases directly at first to identify process gaps and establish meaningful performance metrics.
• Design and launch production automations, then validate them with live workflows and measure their impact.
• Scale automated agents across your domain while reserving human review for high-risk or complex decisions.
• Work alongside Product and Engineering to specify agents and build operational tools.
• Create and maintain escalation paths, standard operating procedures, and performance metrics.
• Improve throughput while keeping operational processes efficient and headcount stable.

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 years of experience building products or processes in banking, fintech, payments, or crypto, or consulting experience with regulated financial services.
• Experience shipping production workflow automations or agents, including AI or LLM-based systems where applicable.
• Hands-on operational experience, such as queue management, case handling, or transaction processing.
• Experience owning end-to-end operational domains, including process design, SOPs, KPI definition, and tooling.
• Ability to define and optimize operational metrics and collaborate with Product and Engineering to build systems.
• Relevant experience in regulated financial services, with exposure to compliance, risk, financial crime, payments, or settlement operations beneficial.
• Experience building or scaling operations in an early-stage or high-growth environment is valuable.

Base salary: $180,000 to $220,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

On-site in New York, New York, United States. Candidates based elsewhere must be willing to relocate.
