Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is offering an Operations Internship in Tyler, Texas within the Supply Chain department. This part-time role supports supervision over logistics tasks and customer service with exposure to transportation management principles.

Under close supervision, the intern will assist with transportation/logistics services, gain experience in planning freight, DOT compliance, driver payroll, and profitability analysis while balancing school commitments.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program OR graduate degree program in good standing at an accredited community college, college or university.
• Must be able to work 20-25 hours a week during the school semester.
• Preferred to adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure and understanding of basic transportation management principles.
• Participate in daily operational tasks including planning of freight; asset utilization; safety management; DOT compliance; driver payroll; logistics management/analysis; driver supervision; profit-and-loss management; maintenance coordination.
• Gain understanding of industry trends and company initiatives as it relates to driver retention.
• Perform pertinent account-specific duties as required by customer.
