Job summary

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Conducts training programs for licensed operators and shift technical advisors in reactor operations covering replacement, requalification, upgrade, etc., consistent with NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) requirements. Develops and maintains operations training programs.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Administers training programs to ensure the availability of qualified and licensed personnel.
  • Interfaces with line personnel to analyze performance needs and recommend appropriate training solutions.
  • Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates training materials and programs using the systematic approach to training.
  • Administers and coordinates training programs for sites and corporate groups as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required for the position

  • Desired: B.S. Degree in education, engineering, or related technical degree or equivalent.
Minimum experience required for the position
  • Instructor, Operations Sr:Must meet one of the following: 12 years commercial nuclear plant experience; An SRO license or certification; B.S. Degree in a related field and at least three years of nuclear training experience or at least three years of experience teaching or developing curriculum in an education or academic environment.
  • Instructor, Operations Sr Staff:5 years of nuclear plant experience (commercial or military) or a B.S. degree in education, engineering, or related technical degree or equivalent experience. At least five years of experience in the associated line organization.
    • Desired: 3 years previously licensed as PWR-SRO
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position
  • Technical proficiency in the assigned area. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
  • Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) or certification on BWR, PWR or both
