Operations Graduate Program – Summer 2027 Internship
What You Will Do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. During this program, you will complete an internship project at Amgen within the Operations function, exploring opportunities and advancing core business priorities. Operations is one of four core functions at Amgen with a mission to manufacture and reliably deliver safe, effective, and high-quality medicine to patients around the world. The organization is spread across ten sites and divided into six functions: Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Operations Transformation & Digital Strategy, Process Development, and Quality. The graduate internship projects are designed to provide students with the opportunity to solve real organizational challenges and develop essential skills for future career success.

This internship will be approximately 13 weeks, expected to start in the Summer 2027, and includes mentoring, coaching, and experiential learning opportunities to support the development of talent on their continued journey to leadership excellence. Amgen promotes collaboration with senior leadership and other business stakeholders through a series of virtual presentations and networking engagements. Interns are also invited to attend an in-person week at Amgen’s headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA, which will provide the opportunity for professional development through training sessions, one‑on‑one mentoring, and multiple networking events.

Program Eligibility Requirements
  • Must be available to work a full‑time schedule.
  • Expected continued enrollment in an accredited college or university following the internship program / co‑op
  • Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship program
  • Must be available to accept and commit to future full‑time employment by July 2028, if offered

Basic Qualifications:

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co‑op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years or older
  • Graduated with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Master’s program for a Master’s internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR Ph.D. for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of MBA OR Master’s OR Pharm D OR Ph.D. program before the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or other relevant disciplines obtained from an accredited college or university
  • Two years of relevant work experience in leadership, biotechnology/pharmaceuticals, consulting, engineering, healthcare, manufacturing, technology, or other relevant industries
  • Experience applying AI and continuous improvement (CI) techniques to automate processes and drive proactive problem‑solving in continuous improvement contexts
  • Demonstrates a passion for innovation in Operations
  • Demonstrates problem‑solving skills, high‑level critical thinking, and strong analytical skills
  • Shows strong business acumen, including the ability to understand business priorities and connect work to strategic objectives
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, a growth mindset, and the ability to quickly learn from experiences and apply learnings to new or challenging situations
  • Exhibits excellent interpersonal and networking skills
  • Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills
  • Displays excellent time and project management skills

The base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $35.34 - $41.83 per hour.
