WesBanco Bank Inc. is seeking an Operations Fraud Specialist to review deposits and digital transactions for potential fraud. This role conducts holds, approvals, and communications with internal teams, and supports testing and implementation of process changes.

The position requires at least two years in banking operations, strong communication, and the ability to train peers while ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient workflows.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years banking experience, preferably in operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn various Banking Software programs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication with professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Train and guide team members on workload management.
  • Support development and implementation of operations plans and policies.

  • Serve as first-line fraud reviewer on In Clearing checks with escalation as needed.
  • Review fraud claims from other financial institutions.
  • Monitor Digital Banking transactions for fraud (Zelle, External Transfers).

Job description

SUMMARY:

Responsible for reviewing mobile, remote deposit capture, ATM and branchdeposits aswell as In Clearing check items for potential fraud, requesting holds and approval orrejectionsas necessary. The Operations Fraud Specialist is also responsible toreview Zelle, External Transfers, and transaction monitoring within our Digital Banking applications for suspected fraud. The Operations Fraud Specialist would also be a key resource in training, testing and implementation of process and procedure changes.

  • Assistswith training and guidance to team members with respect to understanding,processingand managing the workload.

  • Processesaffidavitsfor fraud, including processing of provisional credits to customers' accounts and sending letters to other financial institutions to request funds.
  • Reviews deposit items through branch, mobile, RDC and ATM channels for potential fraud using Direct Link Risk Review. Approve or decline items accordingly.
  • Serves as first line fraud review of In Clearing check items using Direct Link Risk Review to mitigate fraud on incoming check files, working with branch personnel and Fraud team when escalation isrequired.
  • Reviews and process fraud claims received from other financial institutions.
  • Monitors Digital Banking application transactions for fraud, including but not limited to Zelle, External Transfers and Transaction Monitoring.

  • Banking is a highly regulated industry and you will be expected to acquire and maintain a proficiency in the Bank's policies and procedures, and adhere to all laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to your conduct and the work you will be performing.You will also be expected to complete all assigned compliance trainingin a timely manner.
