Job summary

Michels Corporation in Wisconsin is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to lead the accounting team, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support the system transaction center. The role emphasizes attention to detail, organization, and timely decision making.

You will oversee monthly closes, prepare statements, coordinate inter-company activity, and contribute to process improvement through data analysis and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 5–7 years of accounting experience.
• CPA (preferred) and strong MS Office proficiency.
• Valid driver license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise team; interview and train staff; plan, assign, and direct work; provide feedback.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements and reports.
• Oversee monthly close, consolidation, GL entries, and reconciliations.
• Coordinate inter-company activity and year-end data submissions for audits.
• Participate in special projects and provide operational support.

Responsibilities include managing a team of employees, reporting out on monthly metrics and actively seek opportunities to improve business processes. Responsibilities:

• Directly supervise members of the team. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; and providing feedback.


• Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements and reports.


• Lead the monthly closing and consolidation process, account reconciliations, and related analysis and reporting. Oversee, prepare, and review general ledger entries and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.


• Actively participate on special projects: identify and recommend best practices.


• Coordinate the daily and weekly reporting and recording of banking activity.


• Coordinate the reconciliation and reporting of inter-company activity with related companies.


• Coordinate the gathering of and submission of data related to the yearend audit.


• Perform ad hoc projects and analyses.


• Provide resources and information to meet operational needs. Maintain open communication with divisional and departmental leads to ensure coordination of accounting needs. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, 5-7 years of accounting experience, or an equivalent combination


• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite


• Certified Public Accountant (preferred)


• Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record as determined by Michels Review Team
