Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Serve as Senior Local Plant Controller for two manufacturing sites.
• Participate in monthly period-end closing with local F&A team.
• Analyze and report COGS variances per Group Controlling.
• Produce plant reporting and scorecards, including cost-per-kilogram metrics.
• Support SC teams in performance measurement, cost reduction, working capital optimization, and investments.
• Develop performance improvement action plans and track results.
• Participate in quarterly latest estimate and annual budget processes.
• Review and establish annual standard costs with standard costing rules.
• Lead costing and inventory management with Supply Chain and Finance teams.
• Participate in ICS control activities and audits.
• Serve as primary business contact for plant management on SC activities (expense, CAPEX, divestments, etc.).

A-Line Staffing is now hiring an Operations Finance Plant Controller in Newark, NJ. The Operations Finance Plant Controller would be working for a Major Global Manufacturing Company and has career growth potential.

Job Highlights

• Schedule: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
• Pay Range: $80.00–$95.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities

• Serve as the Senior Local Plant Controller, overseeing Supply Chain (SC) controlling activities for two manufacturing sites.
• Participate in monthly period-end closing activities in support of the local Finance & Administration (F&A) team.
• Analyze and report cost of goods sold (COGS) variances in accordance with Group Controlling and Financial procedures.
• Produce and analyze plant reporting and scorecards in accordance with Group and Financial procedures, including cost-per-kilogram metrics.
• Support and challenge local Supply Chain teams in performance measurement, management reviews, cost reduction, working capital optimization, and investment decisions.
• Develop performance improvement action plans and follow up on their implementation and results.
• Participate in quarterly latest estimate and annual budget processes for the plants.
• Review and establish annual standard costs while ensuring compliance with Standard Rules & Guidelines for standard costing.
• Lead costing and inventory management activities in collaboration with local Supply Chain management, Finance & Administration, and other Controllers.
• Participate in control and audit activities led by Finance & Administration and develop high-level control activities to strengthen Internal Control Systems (ICS).
• Serve as the primary business support contact for the plant management team on Supply Chain-related activities, including expense management, capital expenditures (CAPEX), divestments, working capital optimization, cost savings, productivity improvements, and local initiatives and strategies.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics, or a Master's degree in Finance.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting or controlling, including relevant experience in product cost accounting.
• Proficiency in SAP is required.
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency with IT solutions.
• Chemical industry experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical capabilities, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to challenge existing practices, lead discussions, influence ideas, and communicate opinions effectively.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
• Effective professional communication and organizational skills.
• Experience working with multicultural teams is a plus.
