Job summary

Americold Logistics LLC is seeking an Industrial Engineering leader to drive labor productivity, inventory control, and continuous improvement across multiple sites in California. You will develop engineered labor standards, validate time-studied processes, implement performance incentives, and coach site teams on labor management and process tools while traveling up to 75%.

Strong analytical, PMO, and change-management skills are required, along with RF scanning and warehouse management systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering or equivalent (Supply Chain/Operations/Engineering/Logistics) required.
  • 6+ years of work experience in Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • Continuous Improvement and PMO skill required.
  • Proficiency with RF Scanning and Warehouse Management Systems required.
  • Experience providing Engineering support to multiple sites; strong analytical skills.
  • Exposure to leading multisite engineering projects; strong interpersonal and change-management skills.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office; strong time management skills.
  • Ability to read and utilize financial data; high travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering and project support to Americold facilities; drive labor productivity and inventory improvements.

  • Ensure Work Force Management is accurate and utilized on-site; coach operations teams.
  • Evaluate material handling equipment requirements; develop scopes and estimates.
  • Keep abreast of warehousing tech; develop best practices and SOP library.
  • Lead and support various continuous improvement projects; drive labor, inventory, and other initiatives.
  • Create pricing models for new or changing businesses utilizing engineered standards.
  • Conduct audits and site analyses to identify performance gaps and benchmarks.

Job Description

Provide engineering and project support to Americold facilities. Drive labor productivity and inventory control improvements through engineered labor standards, performance-based incentive roll-out, ideate and support the execution and sustainment of continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Leverage dashboards to monitor site level labor, inventory, and service performance, identify issues, and drive corrective actions across all assigned sites.
  • Validate and maintain time-studied standards.
  • Calculate and implement performance incentives.
  • Ensure Work Force Management is accurate and utilized on-site.
  • Coach and train operations teams on labor management, inventory control, process improvement tools, and the associated systems. This includes in-person and remote support.
  • Evaluate material handling equipment requirements as needed.
  • Keep abreast of the latest technology in warehousing and evaluate for innovative applications.
  • Develop project scopes, specifications and estimates as needed.
  • Drive productivity, cost, and process improvements to reduce cost and enhance customer service.
  • Create scheduling tools which accurately reflect work content of a site.
  • Build and manage a best practice and SOP library and reporting tools.
  • Lead and support various continuous improvement projects.
  • Drive the Americold Operating System’s labor, inventory, and other improvement initiatives.
  • Create pricing models for new or changing businesses utilizing engineered standards.
  • Conduct audits and comparative site analyses to ensure compliance, identify performance gaps, and establish benchmarks for inventory control excellence.
  • Other duties as requested.
What Experience and Education You Need
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering or equivalent degree such as Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Logistics is required.
  • 6+ years of work experience in Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • Continuous Improvement and PMO skill required.
  • Proficiency with RF Scanning and Warehouse Management Systems required.
  • Experienced at providing Engineering support to multiple sites.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Exposure to leading multisite engineering projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required.

  • MSD/MOST experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions.
  • Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching, or bending.
  • Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work.
  • Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks.
  • May require travel by automobile and airplane for business.
  • May require visits to warehouse operations in temperatures at or below freezing.
  • May require carrying loads related to travel and the occasional lifting, carrying, positioning, and/or moving of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Requires the use of various electronic tools.
Compensation

The Company’s good-faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting for this position is $94,5000- $118,000 annually. Rate may vary based on work location.
